Andy Serkis is an unusually gifted actor, whether seen in mo-cap or as himself. He also comes across as a modest and gracious getleman. I just saw 'War for the Planet of the Apes' and it knocked me out. His portrayal of Caesar across all three of the films has been complex, powerful, phenomenally skilled and utterly riveting.

The way Andy delivers his lines as Caesar makes total sense because Chimps do not normally talk. And understanding a language and speaking it are two different regions of the brain. So the pauses between words in a simple short sentence makes sense for a being that wasn’t designed to talk.
