The AE1 is what the Book 1 was supposed to be. I don’t think the Book 1 is a bad shoe but Nike released the worst color ways and kept the good ones as exclusive PEs. I’ve only seen 2 or 3 pairs of AE’s that were not made available to the public.

The Nike Book 1 is the best overall shoe I have to play in right now and I own a lot of Jordan, Nike, Adidas, and puma. It’s the best on court performance shoe for my game style as a guard. It reminds me of a low top Kobe mixed with a skate shoe, that has the look of something classic yet modern. It performs great and at the same time I never see anyone else with them and always get compliments. My votes for the Book 1

Awesome breakdown of both. As much as I want to love the Book1s with the silhouette being the best out of the two, the colorways have completely killed my interest in them with each general release. Unfortunately we see him play way more in the random PEs that although are understandably homages to his grails…it hurts my ability to connect with the model as it seems to have no storytelling identity beyond being shoes that book can do his own Nike ID with. The orange ones were the ones but as things often goes…they weren’t available to the masses which was a huge misstep. Hopefully Nike will design a cool enough colorway with them one day bc even with my critiques I do believe the shoe still has great potential

@12:17 exact reason I stopped buying Nike basketball shoes. "Modern performance features" with four techs that we've seen for decades, like what's new here? Nike shoes in 90s all the way up to 2017ish featured more tech, like we got full length zoom and carbon fiber plate in Jordan 12, a shoe almost 30 years old. Nike has been cutting way too much corners with tech and quality control that it's bascially charging you extra $$ for the swoosh branding. May I also add all of these corner cutting are also happening the SAME TIME as price increases, not a coincident that you see ALL of Nike signature shoes at outlet.
