Glad I found this because my right hand for ten years is unable to write or paint. Always shaking when trying to paint or relax. But a consultant Neurologist in 2007 told me that a craineotomy for status epilepticus. The aggressiveness of the removal of 4cm of tumour from the upper right anterior Hippocampus and full dissection of the limbic amygdala near the basal Ganglias. Would cause severe deficiency in dopamine and seratonin levels. This Could at some stage result in a mild form of schizophrenia followed with dementia.

Thank you for so simply and clearly describing differences between the mesolimbic and mesocortical pathways!

I enjoy listening to your videos as kind of a podcast, don't know why but I love them like that. Btw, I don't mind your talking speed. Come to think of it, I watch a lot of videos that speak fast like Minutephysics

Haha I always thought of converting them into a podcast so kinda great that it can be used in that way :) that’s great! Thanks :)

You should draw the different parts of the brain in paper,so that we can grasp the concept easily.

Helpful definitions/explanations. (Just curious - is a strong religious belief a delusion?). This is probably outside the remit of this video, so do not think there is a need to answer. There must be many more chemical neurotransmitters than Dopamine/Serotonin? And as you assert, much more research is needed in these areas. But fine video.

Yes definitely just focusing on those two as they have the more related link between the disorders :) there is a lot of research into religious beliefs and delusions actually but I guess it depends what the belief is, also what would be considered a delusion in this topic varies widely on the culture/country that person resides in :)
