@@powers1500 The way I look at it is you have a legit ~ppg two way 1c in Suzuki, two guys capable of scoring 40+ goals a season in Caufield and Laine, you’re adding a likely franchise player in Demidov, a very good bottom 6, a future #1 offensive defenseman in Hutson, high end shutdown defenseman in Guhle, two complimentary top 4 D in Matheson and Carrier rounding out a solid top 4 with guys like Hage, Beck and Mailloux on the cusp. Actually the tying goal was a broken play initiated by Evans, the puck is left behind and picked up by Hutson who quickly back passes it to Cole who sends it to Suzuki on the far end to initiate the 2v1 on the zone entry. Magic!! Habs transition play just suddenly got so much better during this trip it’s mind boggling

Following hockey over 60 years....most young players get bitten by the sophemore jinx. Last year Slats just played by reaction. This year he realized he was in the NHL and started to think on what to do next. Bad move. Do that during practice and even in the AHL. You make....go to moves without thinking. That is the players edge. Crosby built his game just like that with all that talent he has. Slats.....start working hard in practice and expand your tool inventory. Dach will be much better by March, the knee pain will be lower then so he can expand his tool chest. On the Dobinator....he looks like the real deal....he won't be a hot and cold goaltender like Price was. Price was rushed by Gainey who broke him. Price had the talent but Gainey loaded too much pressure on a kid. Consistency is the mark of an elite player

Slaf is now guaranteed 60,000,000 over the next 7 years after scoring 20 goals in a single season! What is there to play hard for, he is now set for life! He is not aggressive enough because he has never had to play that way, and never will. Maybe in the playoffs he will play better because he has been told that there is no longer any fighting in the post season! Either way, Gorton and Hughes made a BIG mistake giving him too much money after 20 goals in a season! I don't know of any other team that has done that with a player (that wasn't a defense-man) after having a 20 goal season. A very dumb move not to offer him a 3, or 4, million a year contract for 3 years, to see if he would continue to develop!!! Management keep defending him because they are loath to admit such a huge mistake! I predict he will not get much better than he is now, no matter how long he plays. I hope I am wrong.

It seems that every game the Habs play now, they have to beat the opposition and the Ref's. We get Chintzy penalties that other teams do to the Habs and get away with. Why does the NHL want the Canadians out of the playoffs? Maybe, the NHL wants only one Canadian team in the playoffs in each conference to keep ESPN happy. If 2 Canuck teams made the finals, ESPN and their sponsors would be extremely Pissed Off because the viewership in the USA wouldn't watch them!. Maybe that was part of the deal ESPN made with the NHL, in order that ESPN would carry NHL games! Don't forget, Money Rules over everything else!
