Besides technical skills, runs are paramount in modern football (finding space for passes, crosses and combinations) but they devour energy. Your stats strongly suggest that 'Slot's runs' are on average more effective than those under Klopp. A promising perpective for April/May when all the oxygen available is needed. It also underscores how Slot operates match by match and simultaneously with the whole season in mind. Fascinating.

I'd agree. If anyone saw the EPL Injury table LFC had one player out (Gomez) and faced the only other team with one injury (Nottm Forest). So, two full-strength squads placed in 1st & 2nd came to blows and fought for a 1-1 draw. That was LFC's toughest game of the season. Slot isn't trying to get players involved in pointless pressing as Klopp's "pressing monsters" are all 5 years older and have a lot of injuries in them. For four or five years LFC entered January with 8-12 injured players plus AFCON departures and that is not the case right now. Distance Covered was Robertson's strength and now he is not doing it many fans say he's gone off the boil, but it may just be tactical gains.

Even if we don't sign a LB, we have Robertson, Tsimikas and Gomez who can cover those positions. The versatility in this squad is so valuable.

Stats are all good and well, but they don't win games. That was proved against the likes of Utd. We should have given then another thumping, we just about clawed a draw. The game against Tottenham, Pundits, bookies and all put us down for a win, we lost.
