Hi, I appreciate your videos. I’m a mom who, just like you, cares a lot about her children’s education. Since you are speaking of truth, the truth is that it was John Senior, and not Mortimer Adler, to read Saint Thomas Aquinas to his students when he noticed that they were “incapable of even the most basic philosophical discussions” (John Senior and the Restoration of Realism, by Father Francis Bethel, O.S.B.). What Adler talks about in his How to Read a Book is that he noticed, similarly to Senior, that his students “had to be told how to read, not how to reason” while he was reading with them Lucretius, The Nature of things. But you are right that Mortimer Adler also recommended his students to read Saint Thomas Aquinas.

Hi there! I love these 5 questions, and you give wonderful explanations. I have a friend who wants a little bit more understanding about principles. Do you have a resource for that? Something she can watch or listen to that is specifically about defining principles? Thanks!
