You call him a dictator, but he ran the Socialist party in Syria. Don't tell me Socialists know who dictators are and who aren't by their policies. Most of our well-known dictators tend to be socialists ideologically than anything else. Hitler ran the National Socialist movement, just like Mussolini, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Lenin, Castro, FDR, and so on. You can't tell me one dictator that was not involved nor had any ties to a socialist movement. Socialism is just a stepping stone towards Communism, which is why I had put Communist leaders in my list. They're all the same when you look at their policies and treatment of people when they get corrupted with power.

Maybe even worse. But if that's the case, Bashar will continue his career as an ophthalmologist in London and even settled down over there
@TheBlueGrinchofSurgery2 күн бұрын
@@levanminh6585yeah, he had met his future wife there too. Had Bassel not died, Bashar wouldve been a doctor in England and settled with his wife, and his brother, more experienced in politics, wouldve been a more brutal dictator, but wouldve known how to hold onto power better than him. Bashar's significant lack of experience led to his downfall. Meaning, Bassel wouldve led the Assad family to hold onto Syria for a long, long time.

@TheBlueGrinchofSurgery Lack of experience? Bashar held onto power for 24 years. He’s had plenty of experience just by being President of Syria. I don’t know if Bassel would’ve been any better, but Bashar mostly just kept doing what his father had been doing and basically resigned to being an Iranian/Russian puppet. What did him in the most was crap economic policy. HTS ran such a better government that they had a superior economy and a better electrical grid.
@TheBlueGrinchofSurgeryКүн бұрын
@@TheDirtysouthfan By lack of experience, I meant he couldn't study politics better under his father before his death. Had he done that, he would've been a better leader and his economic policies wouldn't have been so trash. Bashar had no political experience before Bassel's death and Bassel on the other hand was being molded into the next leader of Syria by Hafez.

Had Bassel taken control, he wouldve been a better leader but a more brutal dictator that Bashar. He wouldve held onto Syria for a longer time and the Assad family would still rule for a long time. Bassel was more experienced in politics and had been geting tutored by his father, Hafez, for years. Syria is more fortunate to have Bashar rather than Bassel. Crazy canon event, his death was.
