I’m just a mediocre group C/D driver, and I have found that with some cars and tracks I do better with steering and/or brake assists on low. Slippery cars especially; I just can’t drive a low-grip car with no assists. And I like using assists on the E-tracks; Berlin, Hong Kong and New York. If you’re gonna make off-track cuts, though, you can’t do it with any assists on. For that reason alone it’s worth learning to drive with no assists.
@brianfranco78082 жыл бұрын
For sure, learning to drive a low grip car with no assists can be a challenge. One tip would to brake early and turn your sensitivy down. That will help control the car through the turns. As you get more practice, you can adjust the braking points, too. Though, if you brake early, sometimes, once you learn the tight trajectory our of the turn, you can get on the throttle early. This is especially helpful if you are entering a long straight. In slow, out fast.
@larrybeavens75802 жыл бұрын
I get the “in slow, out fast” thing; I really do. I watch ME7 do it, I watch Speedmaster do it, but I just can’t do it myself. I’m 5 years into this game and I still can’t do it. I suck at time trials, and it’s all because I’m terrible at taking corners. My brain keeps telling me, “Get around that corner as fast as you can.” Ah well, I’m 77, and us old dogs don’t learn new tricks easily. Still, just one time I’d like to place higher than group C in a time trial. A wish I’ll take to my grave, no doubt… 😩
@larrybeavens75802 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but time trials are where the big money is (gold). A group A driver makes 300 gold every week compared to my 25. And let’s face it, gold is king in this game. That’s where Firemonkeys makes their money. I’ve spent well over $1,000 buying gold in the last 5 years. That amount would be a lot less if I could earn 300 gold each week in time trials.

For slippery cars.. The best you can do in turns is to brake and keep on tapping brake while you slowly accelerate
@bbuttons79418 ай бұрын
@@akhil_1210uhhh no. That terribly slows you down. Just be patient and make sure that you turned enough to go on throttle and never let go before the next corner. Braking at an exit makes your entry and exit slow and you should only do it if you need to keep the car on track because you throttled too early

that's because you got used to steering assist, steering assist does 50% of the steering, so when you turn it on it'll feel heavier

You have to run dozens of laps to get used to it. The only assist I ever use is low steering. When I turn off steering assist I'm crashing for the first dozen or so laps (any track) but after that I start to settle in and become consistent. You just have to get used to the game not steering for you.
@san-joshuabarrett2 жыл бұрын
I used to have that same problem. However as the previous two guys said you just gotta get used to running it without steering assist. You can turn the sensitivity up a bit to help and try and run some endless endurances to get fully accustomed to it. Then you can start lowering the sensitivity and start shaving off some seconds in your lap times.
@jkliao64862 жыл бұрын
That is normal. I followed ME7's tip where turn sensitivity up by 3 notches when you switch from high to low or low to off. It's really just get used to it. The car does understeer a lot. My experience is practice while farming le mans.

That’s a pretty good set up. The only time that would give you trouble is if you were taking off track cuts. Brake assist and traction control are pretty bad, steering assist high will actually make you lose grip when you don’t turn the way they want you to. Steering assist low seems pretty forgivable.

@@martinplayer23 compared to 2 other settings: yes. But there are still 15 other possible combinations available which are not tested. Not to mention you also can have 10 different settings for steering sensitivity.
@simondelacanal45432 жыл бұрын
The main one is brake assist, that's the most detrimental. Traction control only kicks in if you lose traction and will slow you down a lot. It really over breaks until you regain traction. Finally steering, which is the least influential, but it might slow you down in some very specific corners due to the way the game wants you to take them vs the actual way you take em. Edit: steering sensitivity is up to you, there's no definite answer for that. Just use the one that's the most comfortable for you
@ME7_RR32 жыл бұрын
I hear what you’re saying, i’ve done full length videos in the past, this was just a short. However I can eliminate all other options in just a minute. TRACTION - Will always slow you down regardless of the other settings. You’re better off saving it yourself than relying on traction. When traction comes on it stays on too long. BRAKES - both low and high waste your time. Doesn’t matter about the other settings, they will only make it worse. STEERING HIGH - even with everything else off it will still waste your time. It will actually make you lose traction when you don’t steer the way it wants you to. I experienced this especially at Cota with the sharper corners. Same with bus stop sections in the game. STEERING LOW - this is the least objectionable and doesn’t interfere very much at all. The only time you’re gonna have trouble with this one is when you are trying to take an off-track cut. So if you stay on track and you have the other two off, this one will be fine.
@jkliao64862 жыл бұрын
@@myv777 Steering sensitivity has nothing to do with time, it's about how much you turn the device. As for all different combinations, as long as you have brake assist/traction control on, you will be slow.

@ME7_RR39 ай бұрын
Hi there. Yes, it is surprising how much faster it is to lower your assists. Then yes, you are even faster with none of them. That’s a pretty big adjustment though and there is a strategic way to make that move if you want to. I made a video that highlights the differences and discusses the strategy to make the transition as well as tips. For most people, they turn off all assists, have an absolutely horrible time and then turn them right back on. That’s exactly what I went through, back and forth for months. Anyhow, here’s the video I’m talking about. Check it out and see if it helps you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5jNiXWIpbdliqMsi=2VeATUNiP-NWY6nl

Mostly no. That will usually only effect you if you try off track driving to cut corners and speed up farming. One tip, if you want to try with all assists off go and increase your steering sensitivity by two or three notches.

When it comes to cars and tracks they don’t do what I say or what any of our group says. However they definitely know that we racers want new tracks! They work on that pretty far in advance. Tracks are incredibly difficult to make, especially Formula One tracks. All tracks and cars have to be licensed and approved. Formula one tracks have another level of approval as Formula 1 themselves has to approve of it, as does the owners of the track. I’m really hoping we get a new track in this year‘s Formula One update. I don’t know when that’s coming but hopefully soon.

What does the traction control do?
@andrew338455 сағат бұрын
It applies brakes to the car when it's skidding or drifting so it doesn't slide. If you turn it off, when the car loses control you need to regain it yourself. But remember, if you're a good driver and you don't lose control, traction control never even comes on, so it's better to just leave it off.
