@@pookiesis1465 I haven't seen it yet but I'm going to check out out. I just wish they would have taken a more mature approach. I would have kept carrie as main character but have her with new friends and explain that as you get older rships change, some friends move or just move on etc. I would have a few spot Appearances from Charlotte and Miranda (since those actors are available) on occasion. But why can't carrie have a black friend, a different gay friend (not a replica of Stanford- maybe a no-nense accountant friend or something), and then maybe 2 other female friends. Audition a few actresses and see what chemistry they have. I would have loved that.

i COMPLETELY AGREE w/ Brandy about the lighting! It makes a HUGE difference to me, it was too movie-y, feels less real like the old show. It's little details like that that adds up to why it didn't feel authentic.

Right, I agree!! I actually noticed this during season 6.. it was filmed more like a movie and it started giving the show a different feel.. it was still tolerable then, of course.. but this series is waaaaay too glossy.. it's not so much the lighting as it is the film.. or whatever they use these days- I have no idea what the technical terms are for what I'm trying to say lol.. even the music as they are transitioning between scenes is too Hollywood!

I was heart broken to see these ladies floundering and trying to jump through Woke hoops for rude people half their age. Oh, and their own children. It's terrible what they've done to Miranda, looking at Charlotte's poor Joker mouth hurt, and Carrie seems to have had her personality botoxed along with her face. Who are these people? 😂 Who even wrote this? And who let's their teenager populate in their house, let alone steps on used condoms in their own house? What a sad, terrible mess.

Didn’t they already do an episode in the first season where Miranda kisses a woman, but admits she doesn’t feel anything? I mean, there’s nothing wrong with making Miranda a lesbian, but I feel like the character is starting to blur with Cynthia Nixon. Also, I feel like Steve and Miranda were kinda iconic in the original show. It ended with them in such a good place… now Miranda is just tolerating Steve? And she’s an alcoholic? I just feel like some things don’t add up from where we left off a few years ago.

IMO making a 50+ y/o woman suddenly realize that she is a lesbian, after she already went down that road and had no sexual attraction women, is jumping the shark. They are just trying to check as many woke boxes as possible and blending Cynthia Nixon's personality with Miranda's.

Cringeworthy, embarrassing, so poorly written. Insufferable is a perfect description. I was embarrassed for all the actors because the material they were given was beyond shitty. Characterizations are made through sensitive, authentic, honest writing, not laundry lists of traits that the actors shout out. Plots are written through inciting incidents that must ring true, even if they are comedic or fantastical. I watched 30 minutes of the first episode and then turned it off for an episode of The Fall. It was a far, far better thing for me to watch a series about a serial killer than to watch AJLT.

"They're talking about what they're doing instead of just doing it." That's it! Theresa Giudice was originally not going to serve any jail time for "signing things she didn't know she was signing"...but AFTER they were caught and charged, she and juicy THEN filed a fraudulent bankruptcy (they lied and hid assets)...so the judge rightly got pissed and threw the book at them. Theresa Giudice went to prison for that reason alone (originally the judge was just going to give Joe a year, let Theresa stay with the kids, but after the fraudulent bankruptcy he upped the time for Joe and gave Theresa time too) not for what Joe did, or because she was too stupid to know what she was signing. It bothers me that the whole narrative surrounding her time in jail is that she is totally blameless, when she is the sole reason she did time.

How she was treated in her marraige has no bearing on why she went to prison...which is what I'm talking about. It's not a secret, read what the judge said or read the court transcripts: she went to jail because of what she did...the judge did not want to take a mother away from her children but couldn't just let her lie and continue to break the law with no consequences...these are facts in evidence, not my opinion.

The show is now only a “woke checklist”. I’ve only seen episode one, and they crammed so many woke items (and people) without any exploration of who they are nor their presence adding anything to that episode’s plot or arc. For SATC each episode had a full arc, and the characters helped us navigate the theme. AJLK didn’t have any plot whatsoever, and so many token characters just for the sake of being “inclusive”, although we aren’t fleshing out any of their back stories to make them real people. Edit: Typos

@@KittyQueen43 Agreed. It’s just too many issues “from the same bag”, all thrown in our face, episode after episode. It feels incredibly preachy and jammed into our throats. There was a better way of approaching all of it. But I agree with you, the writers bit more than they could chew. SATC was about friendships, dating in the big city and fashion. This is about political correctness (way too much of it if you ask me), phony inclusivity (Che, Rock, Miranda turning gay, Charlotte and Miranda not knowing how to talk to black people as if they’re aliens) insufferable teenagers and telling us in every episode that 55 is old 👈🏼 this is not at all what I signed up for. Before Charlotte was the pc voice of the show, Samantha was the raunchy and most open minded one, Carrie was conservative with a smidge of spice, Miranda was our cynical queen. Now we don’t have any of this variety. The entire show is one toned, and not a very fun one. It’s either cringe or flat. No in between.

The show is like intentionally bad. Like, how can we ruin the original show? No voiceovers, no jazzy piano bar saxophone music, and no friendship heart to heart talks. Just random things happening and lazy writing. Bizarre and shocking!

The greatest thing about the original series was how spontaneous and honest it was. The movies and reboot are trying so so hard and feel so self conscious and calculated that they just don’t work at all.

We need laughter right now not tears. Tearing down each character and making them less than smart says more about an inept writer. The show became popular because it embraced women and their faults without shaming them. It was a light story showing young women's growth and the trials and tribulations of being a woman. Yes, there should have been more diverse women in the series from the start, but they could have addressed it in a different medium.

The storyline of the horror movie "The Orphan" is exactly what you guys are talking about, mature woman faking being a child. And at the end when Heather's doing her Samantha in England impression mentioning sausages? I think they're called "bangers" there, so golden Samantha innuendo missed!

She is right heather you look great! Your skin care routine is seriously working for you. And I also agree with the point she made about lighting, they took away the gritty new york realism that made the show relatable.

Heather you are so brilliant and clairvoyant!! I gasped when I saw the Carrie character having her own podcast and remember clearly your predictions. I think they should cast YOU as Samantha!!! I am so serious all you need is a blond wig and they can have you arrive from the UK. I appreciate your talents, beauty, and brilliance. Truly.

As someone who’s never seen SATC, I’m so glad this sucks as much as I thought the original shoe probably was. Way to borrow from every pathetic trope about women. It’s all so cringey.

Ok I almost crashed my suv into a a metro bus due to tears and fits of hysterical laughter - the kind of laughter that is spontaneous and uncontrollable. That Samantha bit legit had me almost pissing myself. And FYI. The near bus crash incident happened around the little person circus bit, so yeah, that felt great to laugh so genuinely, but not so funny for the people on the bus. Sorry.
