But why can't carrie have a black friend, a different gay friend (not a replica of Stanford- maybe a no-nense accountant friend or something), and then maybe 2 other female friends. Audition a few actresses and see what chemistry they have. I would have loved that.

Didn’t they already do an episode in the first season where Miranda kisses a woman, but admits she doesn’t feel anything? I mean, there’s nothing wrong with making Miranda a lesbian, but I feel like the character is starting to blur with Cynthia Nixon. Also, I feel like Steve and Miranda were kinda iconic in the original show. It ended with them in such a good place… now Miranda is just tolerating Steve? And she’s an alcoholic? I just feel like some things don’t add up from where we left off a few years ago.

IMO making a 50+ y/o woman suddenly realize that she is a lesbian, after she already went down that road and had no sexual attraction women, is jumping the shark. They are just trying to check as many woke boxes as possible and blending Cynthia Nixon's personality with Miranda's.

Cringeworthy, embarrassing, so poorly written. Insufferable is a perfect description. I was embarrassed for all the actors because the material they were given was beyond shitty. Characterizations are made through sensitive, authentic, honest writing, not laundry lists of traits that the actors shout out. Plots are written through inciting incidents that must ring true, even if they are comedic or fantastical. I watched 30 minutes of the first episode and then turned it off for an episode of The Fall. Theresa Giudice was originally not going to serve any jail time for "signing things she didn't know she was signing"...but AFTER they were caught and charged, she and juicy THEN filed a fraudulent bankruptcy (they lied and hid assets)...so the judge rightly got pissed and threw the book at them. Theresa Giudice went to prison for that reason alone (originally the judge was just going to give Joe a year, let Theresa stay with the kids, but after the fraudulent bankruptcy he upped the time for Joe and gave Theresa time too) not for what Joe did, or because she was too stupid to know what she was signing. It bothers me that the whole narrative surrounding her time in jail is that she is totally blameless, when she is the sole reason she did time.

The show is now only a “woke checklist”. I’ve only seen episode one, and they crammed so many woke items (and people) without any exploration of who they are nor their presence adding anything to that episode’s plot or arc. For SATC each episode had a full arc, and the characters helped us navigate the theme. AJLK didn’t have any plot whatsoever, and so many token characters just for the sake of being “inclusive”, although we aren’t fleshing out any of their back stories to make them real people. Edit: Typos

@@KittyQueen43 Agreed. It’s just too many issues “from the same bag”, all thrown in our face, episode after episode. It feels incredibly preachy and jammed into our throats. There was a better way of approaching all of it. But I agree with you, the writers bit more than they could chew. SATC was about friendships, dating in the big city and fashion. This is about political correctness (way too much of it if you ask me), phony inclusivity (Che, Rock, Miranda turning gay, Charlotte and Miranda not knowing how to talk to black people as if they’re aliens) insufferable teenagers and telling us in every episode that 55 is old 👈🏼 this is not at all what I signed up for. Before Charlotte was the pc voice of the show, Samantha was the raunchy and most open minded one, Carrie was conservative with a smidge of spice, Miranda was our cynical queen. We need laughter right now not tears. Tearing down each character and making them less than smart says more about an inept writer. The show became popular because it embraced women and their faults without shaming them. It was a light story showing young women's growth and the trials and tribulations of being a woman. Yes, there should have been more diverse women in the series from the start, but they could have addressed it in a different medium.

OMG YES the subtitle issue! Thank you for bringing that up! I spent 30 minutes trying to turn it off to no avail 🤬 Now I know it wasn’t just my tv 😆

These two are my favorite guests. So normal and someone you could be friends with. Plus insanely funny.

LOVED this episode! I'm going back to re-watch / re-listen. LOVE when Brandy and Julie are on, super fun. When Julie made the comment about lesbian drum circles, I almost spit out my coffee.

Jana Duggar was babysitting all the kids and one got out and was found on a country road and they called the police. Brandy and Julie are the best!

I'm so glad they brought up the subtitles when Big was singing to Carrie, good to know I wasn't the only one. So weird 🤣

I just found this wonderful channel and love the uploads…however, of all of the hosts, I have prioritized watching all of the “Julie and Brandy” episodes. I absolutely LOVE the three of you together and they bring out the best of your comedy Heather. I AM NOW A PROUD SUBSCRIBER!!! 😄

Ok I almost crashed my suv into a a metro bus due to tears and fits of hysterical laughter - the kind of laughter that is spontaneous and uncontrollable. That Samantha bit legit had me almost pissing myself. And FYI. The near bus crash incident happened around the little person circus bit, so yeah, that felt great to laugh so genuinely, but not so funny for the people on the bus. Sorry.

Jana fell asleep and one of the kids went wondering in the street. She takes care of all the small kids. Poor girl. Where was the Mom🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣

@veronica, why only the mom? Where was the male parent? She needs to escape that cult!

"So she just jizzed all over her face!?" "When we come back I have special treat!" If there is a greater segue in the history of entertainment it was my devastating loss to have missed it.

Thank you for verbalizing all the things I was thinking in my head about And Just Like That. I really, really want to like it but after the first two episodes I had the same thoughts as all of you. I'm hoping it gets better.
