As a current Student at UA the news left everyone here utterly shocked . I’m glad for the years I had with Saban as coach but damn it’s unfortunate I won’t get to graduate with him and see another Saban victory . I’m a lifelong Bama fan, and I’m definitely bummed to lose the Goat as our head coach, but nobody deserves to enjoy their retirement more than Coach Saban. I hope that he will continue to help coach whoever comes after him to continue his legacy. Not just to win championships (although I love that part), but to better the lives of those they touch. Coach Saban always had an “entire lifetime” approach to coaching that made players into successful men. I want that to continue to be his legacy and our reality in Alabama. As a Auburn fan I'm so confused in my feelings. On the one hand my blood tells me to scream hallelujah, but my soul doesn't feel that way. I've never hated Sabin, he's arguably the best coach on the field, but I think it's his off the field work that makes him the greatest of all time. He's very generous and respectful to people. I've never heard of scandal like Harbaugh has had at Michigan. He played within the rules or was damn good at hiding. I'm going to miss saying "Nicky's mad" when I see him rage. If it's any consolation we just lost one of the greats. Guess I can't say "Let's take the Caddie to the Natty," for awhile at least. Hope y'all find a good replacement, word of advice don't ask a man from potato land to be your head coach.

Who else has won national championships at multiple schools, for a total of 7, in two eras (BCS and CFP)? Who came into the program and had to rebuild it after many bad years? Auburn fan here, before y'all go crazy on me, I come in peace!! I mean this genuinely, there will NEVER be another Nick Saban. Never. He in his own right goes down in history by the legendary Bear Bryant. I am however proud to say I lived through the Nick Saban Era. He did give us a lot of heck, but, we were able to return the favor every now and again 😉But he has built an incredible resume that cannot be matched! The Iron Bowl will definitely not feel the same anymore!! Heck, college football isn't gonna feel the same! I'm glad he gets to enjoy retirement! My wife is a Tennessee grad GO VOLS! But it's been a pleasure to watch Saban coach the Tide. He's molded and shaped young men through football to be fine fellow citizens and professional football players. Very seldom do your rivals and competitors admit that "Yeah, he's the best ever" but he is. Perhaps someday the trophy will be called The Saban Trophy because in the modern era of college football we will probably never see another program like the one he put together at Alabama and never see another coach like Nick Saban. I heard Alabama's new head coach was gonna be Butch Jones. His offensive coordinator was gonna be Derek Dooley And the defensive coordinator was gonna be Jeremy Pruitt.

I have a theory, just hear me out. In my opinion the Iron Bowl game had something to do with his retirement. After being tormented for the kick six for a decade, Alabama/Saban finally got back at them with the Nightmare at Jordan Hare last min comeback win. To win like that was the absolute best and the Georgia/SEC win was just a bonus. That’s how I’d want to go! Roll Tide!
