As a current Student at UA the news left everyone here utterly shocked . I’m glad for the years I had with Saban as coach but damn it’s unfortunate I won’t get to graduate with him and see another Saban victory . I’m a lifelong Bama fan, and I’m definitely bummed to lose the Goat as our head coach, but nobody deserves to enjoy their retirement more than Coach Saban. I hope that he will continue to help coach whoever comes after him to continue his legacy. Not just to win championships (although I love that part), but to better the lives of those they touch. Coach Saban always had an “entire lifetime” approach to coaching that made players into successful men. I want that to continue to be his legacy and our reality in Alabama. As a Auburn fan I'm so confused in my feelings. On the one hand my blood tells me to scream hallelujah, but my soul doesn't feel that way. I've never hated Sabin, he's arguably the best coach on the field, but I think it's his off the field work that makes him the greatest of all time. He's very generous and respectful to people. I've never heard of scandal like Harbaugh has had at Michigan. He played within the rules or was damn good at hiding. I'm going to miss saying "Nicky's mad" when I see him rage. If it's any consolation we just lost one of the greats. Guess I can't say "Let's take the Caddie to the Natty," for awhile at least. Hope y'all find a good replacement, word of advice don't ask a man from potato land to be your head coach.

He in his own right goes down in history by the legendary Bear Bryant. I am however proud to say I lived through the Nick Saban Era. After being tormented for the kick six for a decade, Alabama/Saban finally got back at them with the Nightmare at Jordan Hare last min comeback win. I love that college football is.more of a minor league NFL now. And while NIL and the transfer portal need a lot of adjustments I love it. Makes more teams more competitive. Love it, love it and college football won't only survive but it will thrive and coaches who don't get on board will be left behind I do agree with the Saban comment. He has been very out spoken against the portal and NIL and did not like them. He felt that was not how colleg le football should be played and was not willing to get on board. He's molded and shaped young men through football to be fine fellow citizens and professional football players. Very seldom do your rivals and competitors admit that "Yeah, he's the best ever" but he is. Perhaps someday the trophy will be called The Saban Trophy because in the modern era of college football we will probably never see another program like the one he put together at Alabama and never see another coach like Nick Saban. Go Vols and Go SEC.

I am an Auburn fan 100%. But, I have always had a lot of respect for Saban and sometimes I would get so mad at how bama fans took him for granted. I WISH he would come and work with his buddy Hugh at Auburn, but I do really hope he and his lovely wife enjoy themselves and wish them all the best. And ...really hard for an Auburn alumni to say....but Bama was so fortunate to have the best coach in college football ever! 🧡💙
