being a pianist is a ministry that requires preparation, prayers and practice. i have always told guys if you cant play it in a excellent way just stay off the keyboard go work on your skill first .coz its gonna mess whole moment of worship. David was known as a man of excellent in what he did on music .he mastered his skill while on the field with the sheep, till it was recognized and he was called in the presence of king soul and that time he only played the harp skillfully till demons came off king soul. i second you savior bee, there are so many avenues to advance on playing instrument nowadays like KZbin etc so there is no need of playing mediocre skills in church. its not pride i started from a point too and was given an opportunity as well to play at church but i did not remain the same on my game i advanced from a beginner to professional level. we got to give God what is gold in us.

There is a level for everyone and every church. My challenge to you, learn blues, learn diminished 5ths, you have not yet reached. Humble yourself.
