It seems some of you misunderstood what he meant by “it’s like he was placed in the wrong generation” he’s just saying that his character was that of the salaf so much so that you would think he belonged in that generation. There’s nothing wrong with that statement, we should all strive to be like our righteous predecessors (May Allah be pleased with them all) but we all know the hadith that they are (the Sahaba) the best of generation, and then 2 following generations after.. and Shaykh Ibn Baz (RA) did his best to emulate their character, and May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and widen his grave. theres a mistake in the translation. the shiekh said that bin baz rahimahu ALLAH gave the man 9000 riyal but in the translation its is written 19 000.

In summary Brother/Sister the Shaykh did not make this ruling from his own nafs; it was well thought out with many backings from the Kitab and Sunnah - things that layman do not have access too - either due to their ignorance or just plain lack of understanding - read below what Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) said: قال الشيخ ابن باز رحمه الله : " يجب أن يعلم أنه لا يجوز استقدام الكفرة إلى هذه الجزيرة ، لا من النصارى ، ولا من غير النصارى ، لأن الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم أمر بإخراج الكفرة من هذه الجزيرة ، وأوصى عند موته صلى الله عليه وسلم بإخراجهم من هذه الجزيرة ، وهي المملكة العربية السعودية واليمن ودول الخليج ، كل هذه الدول داخلة في الجزيرة العربية ، فالواجب ألا يقر فيها الكفرة من اليهود ، والنصارى ، والبوذيين ، والشيوعيين ، والوثنيين ، وجميع من يحكم الإسلام بأنه كافر لا يجوز بقاؤه ولا إقراره في هذه الجزيرة ولا استقدامه إليها إلا عند الضرورة القصوى التي يراها ولي الأمر ، كالضرورة لأمر عارض ثم يرجع إلى بلده "It is a must to know it is not allowed to support Kufr in this Jazeera (Arabian peninsula) regardless if they be Christian or others - as the Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded to repel disbelief from this Peninsula and he gave a will during his death to repel them from this Peninsula - which is Saudi, Yemen, and The Khaleeji States - all of these lands make up the Arabian peninsula. So it is a must to not have disbelievers from Jews or Christians reside or settle in this peninsula nor allow him in it EXCEPT BY UPMOST NECESSITY SEEN BY THE AUTHORITY (KING) LIKE A NECESSITY DURING A CRISIS SITUATION - THEN THEY (KUFFAR) WILL RETURN BACK TO HIS LAND."

"مجموع فتاوى ابن عثيمين" (3/41) . "AND IBN UTHAYMEEN SAID: (SUMMARIZED) "ALLOWING THEM DUE TO NEED OF THEM IN WHICH WE FIND NO MUSLIM CAPABLE OF FUFILLING THIS NEED IS ALLOWED WITH A CONDITION -- THAT THEY ARE NO GIVEN PERMANENT RESIDENCE - ALSO IF ALLOWING THEM RESULTS IN HARMING OF RELIGION IN REGARDS TO AQEEDAH OR MANNERS THEN IT BECOMES HARAM - FROM THESE HARMS IS FEAR OF LOVING THEM AND BEING PLEASED WITH WHAT THEY ARE UPON OF DISBELIEF; AND LOSS OF JEALOUSY DUE TO MIXING WITH THEM" - (MAJMOO' FATAWA IBN UTHAYMEEN VOL 3---PAGE -41)

Based on this - Ibn Baz made the Fatwa and allowed these troops in - as Saddam was a tyrant at that time - and sought to shed blood of muslims in Saudi - so Allah granted the muslims safety by using the Americans; just as Allah granted assistance to the Prophet by the hands of Mu'taam Bin Adi from his people when Abu Talib died; and from the Jews of Khaybar etc...

Proof? You just quoted the will of Rasulullah(saw) concerning the kufaar residing in the Arabian Peninsula. And the Sahabah carried out that order and expelled the kufaar(who were native to that land) into Iraq & other places. Since there is no recorded evidence that Sahabah disagreed on this issue, it is then the ijmaa of the best generation of the ummah of Prophet Muhamad(pbuh). Would you like to go against the ijmaa of those noble companions? What makes you think Muslims could not have fought Saddam? Saddam died 11 years ago, what are they still doing there? Or is it still a CRISIS SITUATION? Bin Baz was knowledgeable on the books no doubt, but he was ignorant about the practical consequences of his fatwa. In the mid 90's Filipinos working in the landfills of Al-Kharj used to find pornographic magazines dumped there from Prince Sultan airbase. Sometimes even alcoholic bottled. BTW, Ahl ul-Ilm is not a proper handle name for a Muslim. Seeker of knowledge would be appropriate.
