Just a heads up, Bon Iver is the name of the group. The person you're referring to as Bon Iver is actually Justin Vernon, who is the lead vocalist and "main guy". There's actually a very large group of people who contribute to the band, especially in the music-engineering side of things.

Honestly yes and no. I used to staunchly believe this about Bon Iver and comment this all the time, but after following the band really closely for many years and meeting Sean Carey, I learned that Bon Iver really is Justin’s brainchild. Yeah, he has a billion collaborators but so does literally every artist. My comment is way too long for something that matters so little haha but I think you can refer to Bon Iver as either “him” or “them”. There’s dozens of amazing artists that work on each of Bon Iver’s projects, but at the end of the day it started out with Justin alone, and it still very much is his vision and project.

@@lucasfourniermusicit’s his brainchild but Justin Vernon isn’t bon iver as himself that’s why he doesn’t use the title in his other groups like volcano choir or DeYarmond Edison for example with Justin Vernon being the lead vocalist… when it comes to Bon Iver as a whole it should really be viewed more as a project name rather than a given name for an artist as that’s how I’ve always heard Vernon speak about it. He’s not Bon Iver but the project is and of which he’s the original creator of that project

Bon Iver has gotten me through a break up with For emma, forever ago and a divorce with 22, a million. The guy knows how to pull emotions that we try to bury deep in our hearts.

Your videos always come at the perfect time. I was about to ask you to make an artist analysis on Bon Iver! Plus it’s Winter here in the UK so I always listen to more Bon Iver than usual. Another great video! Thank you!!

@@theindiemusiclab i feel like you could just use the audio from these vids and post them as you would on KZbin. It’d be cool to have these on Spotify to listen to at work

I felt like this analysis was a little lacking. I appreciate that you pointed out some things to think about, but I would’ve liked if you included some primary quotes/anecdotes from Bon Iver to make it more convincing and less of just your own conclusions

His name is not Bon Iver. It’s Justin Vernon. Bon Iver is the name of his band.
