I'm probably the only Watford fan that wants AFC Bournemouth to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. I saw Jebbison play for us on boxing day, now he could be a UCL striker next season🤞. 🐝💪🍒

As an ardent Bournemouth fan, it's great to see the club doing well. I think a lot of fans thought our trip on the gravy train would finish with Howes departure but Andoni has taken us to another level entirely. Even with a threadbare squad facing an inform Newcastle away, we absolutely destroyed them for 90 minutes. I highly suggest watching the post match interview with Tyler Adams and Justin Kluivert. I don't think I've ever seen players have so much belieft in their colleagues and manger. Super exciting stuff. UITCAD

Excellent review. Iraola was a very good defender in Athletic Bilbao, a classic in La Liga. Then, developed his skills as a coach, learning with Bielsa. What we are witnessing is a young and talented coach with a clinical eye on players possibilities and brilliant style of play for such a difficult league as is the Premier.

Really good assessment Jacob, thanks for the video. Firstly I predicted that we would push on from last season and not qualify for Europe simply because it would be a step too far. Bournemouth are a work in progress as Bill Foley has pointed out. Could this be the season that is priming the players for the biggest season in 2025/2026? Andoni said after the Newcastle game that it was the complete team performance and I cannot disagree. It is Tuesday morning now and I am still buzzing about that game. Hard to pick out a man of the match as they were all excellent but my choice would be Tyler Adams. Andoni ball is a joy to watch, it does not always work out perfectly depending on the opposition but there are always moments in a game that make you realise this team under Andoni has something special. It will be interesting to see when some players start returning from injuries, anything is possible. It is a great time time to be a Bournemouth fan. Happy Days 🍒🍒🍒

Me again. For our first goal, Semenyo HAD dropped into the hole that you pointed to. He did so to pull Livramento out of position and then exchanged passes with Christie, span his man into the space created and collected Ryan's pinpoint pass. Livramento hesitated to follow (it was already too late, however) and then Murphy doesn't track Kluivert who ran into the space vacated by Semenyo and Livramento and had time to finish unchallenged. Simple football if carried out well and great to watch.

Another thing worth adding about the style is Bournemouth find it hard to play against a low block or the more defensive counter attacking sides like Forest. The game this weekend isn’t just the result but how Bournemouth deal with low possession bus parking. The video does slightly touch on it.

Christie should be up for a ballon d'or nomination if AFCB qualify for Europe 😂

I’m not even joking when I say Semenyo has the best first touch in the prem, there has to be a compilation somewhere he’s incredible!

This isn’t even a joke, I watch Bournemouth live week in week out and semenyo receives this long passes from the other side of the pitch and just controls them as if they were from a yard away, mental to watch irl

Personally i'd rather cut our teeth in either Europa conference league or Europa league as a taster for European football and especially the E Conference which as a team we would stand a good chance of winning that trophy. As for Iraola and how he disrupted the big 6 or getting good results against those bigger teams. You just have to look at his years as manager of Rayo Vallecano in La Liga a team comparable to the size of Bournemouth but going up against the big boys and beating them and also as a player at Bilbao. Iraola made over 500 appearances for the Bilbao side, helping them reach the Copa del Rey final twice, as well as the UEFA Europa League final in 2012. He built the club (Rayo Vallecano) a reputation as giant-killers, knocking Villarreal and Sevilla out of the Copa del Rey on their way to the semi-finals. In August 2020, Iraola took charge of Rayo Vallecano, whom he guided back to LaLiga in his first season, and steered them to victories over Real Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla in the top flight.

Zabarnyi is at least 6 2 and is, as you say 'a proper unit'. He is also a quick, skillful and intelligent unit. Christie is the heartbeat of the team. When you watch him live it is even more awesome than on tv. At times he will go for a challenge not quite get there so he keeps on after the ball to the next opponent and then onto the next, just non-stop. When he arrived we thought that he was a winger who couldn't tackle. How wrong we were on both points. As my brother puts it 'he's been playing in the wrong position all his career'.

Just want to note that Bournemouth have conceded just 7 goals to the Big 6 clubs (3-0 Liverpool (away), 0-1 Chelsea (home), 2-1 City (home), 2-2 Chelsea (away) while keep clean sheets against Arsenal, Tottenham and Man United.
