Some things that are different in Flores' defence are: 1. he's got two older CBs who might not be as quick, but play the right coverage, understand leverage, and don't give up avoidable penalties 2. he has replaced a decent LB with a younger promising LB in Cashman 3. he added 2 or 3 decent DTs - Tillery, Jonah and Jihad - all a step up from Lowry, and more positionally flexible, and this creates a much deeper rotation that keeps everyone fresher 4. he has added 2 or 3 edge rushers that are actually OLBs - in Greenard, AVG, Turner, and Jihad who can set the edge on rushing plays, and Jones II who can do a bit of both. The improvement created by the bought to order players, and the much better depth seems to be undervalued by many, many fans and analysts. The rotation makes Phillips better. The depth makes Murphy better because he can be used for match ups, not out of necessity. He's the perfect foil for Tank Dell, but would probably be a disaster against Nico Collins.
