The social media content does keep army interested and bring attention to them though. It's an excellent marketing strategy. No one loves them only for their tweets of course, it's all about them and their music. But social media brings us closer to the artist and that is very beneficial for both the fans and the artists.

Why bts is the best(seven resons why i stan them) 1) they're talented beyond belief If you've ever chanced upon a bts performance online, you'll know what we're talking about.these boys will leave you breathless with their ability to own the stage while it's a given that they should know how to sing, dance and rap,all seven members also produce and and write their own songs (kings) 2) they're family After living with each other for the majority of their lives- weathering every hardship and celebrating every win. together, their band goes beyond just having a good group dynamics.thay know each other's strengths, struggles and how manage each colourful personality in the group, which allows them to have that undeniable chemistry on and off stage that we love to see. 3) they're extremely down to earth people Despite bagging awards locally and internationally, spelling out stadiums and topping the charts left and right ,at the care of bts is still the same group of (extraordinary) boys who get excited over the little things ,while it's no secret that these boys have worked hard to get to where they are, they never forget their fans- from their ending mentions during concerts down to the songs that they've written and produced, they've dedicated just about everything to army 💜 (4)they keep it real Authenticity is something that's hard to come by these days, put with bts,you can expect nothing but that, they're unapologetically real and not all avers to showing all sides of themselves, from the cute and funny moments on and off stage down to the struggles and vulnerabilities they face as a group and as individuals.a constant reminder that they're just as human as the rest of us.☺️ (5) positive massage) In times when you're looking for more things to hold on to , their words give you a sense of reassurance.from thair society conscious lyrics focused mostly on the exploration of identity, positivity and acceptance to the ability of advice they give during their live streams, it's not hard to see why fans (like me) often say that bts came into their lives at a time they needed then the most . they've transcended beyond entartainment band have became a soure of comfort for 💰 (6)they socially awar In 2017,that launched a global compaign in partnership with UNICEF, building on the mantra love yourself, which the group's frontman,rm (our leader) says is the care of BTS identity.since it's launch, the campaign has raised over 1 million in donations and was quickly followed by an invitation to address the United Nations general assembly in new york city the year after.being no stranger to social injustices, the group also spoke up and made a notable donation to the #black lives matter movement that happened early this year triggering a ripple effect amongst their fans who matched their 1million donations to the cause

@kookieyumyum7119 3 жыл бұрын
And also (7)they are bring together Beyond their breathing performances and visuals, the group has successfully cultivated a world wide community of fans that have came to embrace their massage of positivity and acceptance.despite mush of their content being in Korea, bts has created an avenue to look past the language barrier, eliminating vand biases of what people deem good music is and what it should be performing a deeper connection with anyone who is willing to listen.at the end of the day, it doesn't matter who you are, where are u from.....there are seven boys in South Korea named Kim namjoon, min yoongi, Kim seokjin, jung hoseok, park jimin,Kim taehyung,Jeon jungkook are here and who understands you while seven resons are barely enough bro talk about why bts is the best,we acknowledge that there needs to be an eighth....and that's A.R.M.Y ! As the boys say "we are not seven with you .borahae 💜💜🙆🙆🙆🙆🙆#army#bts forever 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

BTS has won the WORLD over, not just America! Their message first drew me to them and now I have something positive in my life💜💜BTS is NOT a typical boy band that suddenly struck gold. They were made fun of and received so much hate, but they focused on working hard and remained humble. These extremely talented guys made it through persistence, and hard work, NOT due their social media presence! The 'Seven-year cycle' of other bands doesn't figure in our world because BTS WILL LIVE IN ARMYS' HEARTS FOREVER💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Why do they think BTS' Twitter account is such a HUGE deal when it comes to their success? They say things like how they constantly put out new content on social media, but that actually kinda pissed me off cause it shows that they don't really understand what's going on. There have been times where BTS don't post for weeks and there have been times when one of the of the members just spams my timeline. Literally it's just a Twitter account; there's nothing special about it besides the fact that they had more freedom than most other idols at the time. They also clearly don't know how little Jungkook used to post where we actually made memes about how he possibly deleted twitter off his phone💀 My point is, other artist are active on social media WAY MORE than BTS and interact with their fans on Twitter way more, too, like actually replying to them and stuff, but for some reason they only mention the 'power of social media' when it comes their success. It's almost like they're watering down the cause of they're success. Why is it that when it comes to BTS, social media is apparently their main cause of global domination, but when it comes to other western artists (or any other Kpop groups for that matter), social media has nothing to do with their career?

Their productions are beyond greatness and has no limits ---> But, ... Their diversity messages is what had me stanned them so hard. It takes ages to dissect their lyrics on what they're tryin to convey to society, but its always worth it and its something that you can always relate and reflect to it. Their humbleness and sincerity are what makes them who they are rite now. - Sea

I would like to add two more points :- - The amazing MVs , catchy songs and dance moves attract someone into the fandom but it's their lyrics and personalities that make them hardcore fans . - They used the social media because they didn't have any other way to promote . Their company was in a poor financial situation and they had been mistreated on some Korean shows . That's why we don't see BTS on any Korean variety show anymore even tho they are dying to have them now . -

Looks like the video forgot to mention the brilliant production staff behind BTS success - especially their producer Brainy Bang PD. The amount of stuff in BTS universe and references from ancient philosophy to contemporary analytical depth psychology in their MVs/books are just next level stuff. On top of that, the contents between awards shows VCR, short story films, music show performances were all connected throughout the years. BTS is writing a history book with many books incorporated within their narratives. I have at least read 5 new English books since listening to them. It's music for healing and education. People who listen to them are not all teenagers. Social media helps spreading awareness of their projects but it's their sincere contents and personalities that attract people to stay. What they are doing is beyond a boy-band or idol group. They are in their own league.

Not all BTS fans are teenyboppers. They appeal to all ages, from pre-school to grandmothers! People have the misconception that a boy band automatically means teen girls as fans, but it's so far from the truth. I'm not a teen. I was not a teen when I started to love BTS, not long after their debut! And it's not just because they're a K-Pop group. It's not about it being K-pop, it's about nice guys who care about the world, write songs that have positive meanings, care about their fanbase no matter the age, and are talented. They're not just put together for their looks and the rest is left to "professionals". They ARE professionals. They write their own lyrics, they produce songs, and not just for themselves, they make some of their own choreography.... Read the information about Big Hit Entertainment. Suga is credited as a producer! They are a small company, they were able to really focus on BTS, to work on their skills and talents, and they are not spreading themselves thin with a bunch of boy and girl groups, dozens of actors, etc... So they had the time and staff to really focus on BTS, to help them to hone their skills. BTS were not pushing at the door to other countries. Other countries noticed them, opened the door and BTS were more than glad to walk in and prove they are not just a regular boy band, they have substance. They're not acting when they show friendship or love or friendliness. That's genuine! And that is what makes people love them, genuine young men raised right who care about others and the state of the world.

BTS becoming popular from social media isn’t even half of how they got so many of their fans. For being an ARMY for a while, they have gotten fans because of their genuine personalities and how their music connects with us. What’s frustrating about this video is they talk about BTS like some sudden world phenomenon when they have already had a huge fan base from way before they blew up in America. It’s just they got so much bigger this year because ARMY made it possible for them to recognized by American media. When they first went on the billboard awards, no one from the American media knew them. But once they blew up the internet then suddenly all these American shows wanted them as guests. BTS from the beginning was an underdog group. Being able to to perform on these huge stages and being recognized is a dream come true for them. I support BTS in every way and I just wish that the media can see that they worked so hard to get where they are today. They’re not just a sudden popular boy band like all the others they mentioned in this video. They are true and honest to what they try to show us and they don’t just need social media to show us that.

Loved the video and was surprised to see some faces (aka the tired people). This made me realize that I don't need to watch more stories about how popular BTS is. I know they are global phenomenon. My relative in a tiny country of Africa knows who BTS is. I just wish I can be warned about the content so I can choose to watch it or not. Because BTS popularity is not well accepted by some people, hypocrits are coming out. So be careful who you choose to interview.

Thanks to RM English skill.

No, that can't really be it in my opinion, although it helps a lot. However, there are many Kpop groups with members who speak perfect & fluent English & their success didn't reach BTS status. SM: Boa Super Junior M: Henry Super Junior: Siwon Shinee: Key 2pm: Jay, Taecyeon, Nichkhun SNSD: Tiffany, Jessica FX: Amber, Crystal. MBLAQ: Thunder 2ne1: CL, Sandara Black Pink: Jennie, Lisa, Rose EXO: Kris, Lay...Seho (I think) Too many to list, but a lot of idols speak english, due to being from, studying & living abroad in western countries.

Yes, for me, BTS goes beyond the concept of "boyband". These guys are accomplishing so many things, their impact is huge and goes beyond the entertainment. It's about culture, about influencing people for something good, about self-expression and much more. We haven't seen artists like this in a long time. Artists that use music to talk to people and cause significant changes! Its interesting to see the cultural diversity in their concerts. In some countries, we see race diversity, gender diversity, age diversity... All singing together! They deserve all this recognition, for their talent, creativity, hard work, honesty with their art and respect for their fans. (And they're also very humble!)💕 I believe they came to stay for a very long time!💜

First of all... I'm not a teen! There is nothing wrong with having teenage fanbase but don't use it as box to fit bts into your understanding of what boy bands are. And secondly, there are all kinds of people who follow bts so don't tell me that we all cater to the boyfriend fantasies! And lastly, bts did not rise because there was no boy bands! They gained their followers overtime because of their music and lyrics and their interactions with their fanbase that did not just limit to fan service but honest communications about inner self and mental health which also translated into their music. Which is why their fandom isn't superficial. They are not going to go away just because bts enlists or take a break... Their loyal fandom isn't just because bts put out contents regularly but because they managed to touch and change many of their lives. This why you need to look outside defining bts as a boyband or kpop if you really want to understand the phenomenon. But if you want to put them in a box go right ahead... But doesn't mean it's true.

Bts success wasn’t a strategy. ITS BECAUSE OF AN EMOTIONAL CONNECTION. ARMY feels their feeling as they do ours. They make music that reminds them of what they go/went through and it connects with us. They love their fans and they don’t post regularly to gain anything they don’t see it as a job they see it as a true authentic connection. This video needed a little more research before they put it out. LOVE YOU AARRRMYYY💜💜

Ugh 😩😩 they did not resort to social media to gain international fans.SMH They couldn't get a proper platform in korea to showcase their talent so they had to use other means! Oh my god these people saying all these nonsense. I was a kpop fan since 2009 and it was always dominated by the big 3 (SM, YG AND JYP) so a small company like bighit has to do something to emerge and be seen, hence social media. It was difficult for them to be popular in Korea how can they even think of targeting international fans? It was just because they social media presence that they gained fans internationally not the other way around. 😩

I find it funny how some people are surprised by the fact that you can actually listen to music in another language. I mean it's not like almost every country has its own language and artists. I'm from Belgium, I listen to songs in French and Dutch because those are my native languages but I also listen to music in English because those songs are more mainstream. Listening to songs in another language is not new, it's natural for the world because the world isn't only made of English speaking countries and to be honest it shouldn't be new for the US because a lot of American citizens have another cultural background. So why so surprised ?

I like kpop, never liked boybands But kpop is kpop, boybands are boybands, and BTS is BTS. BTS has a form of a kpop boyband, but BTS is much bigger than those two. They have a story, depth and narrative, they represent modern values: perseverence, resourcefulness, tolerance and self-acceptance. And they are captivating performers with catchy songs

BTS used social media to gain international fans as a strategy?? thats not actually right. They used social media to gain fans cuz the Korean Music Industry(mostly the Big3) didnt want them on TV or on the Radio. Their TV performances were been canceled, like all the time when they were rookies. They worked so hard but yet again all of their performances were not aired on TV. At festivals they were cut off from the setlist the last minute. How do you expect to gain fans if no one know your existence ? Bighit was a small company, what choice did they had? KZbin is free, Twitter too. free publicity. But what made them big is their hard work and their Hard work had actually impact.

Well there was much mediaplay or smth bcs I remember that "2 Cool 4 Skool" is the longest charting album in the Gaon chart for 290 weeks on Top 100, charting in 5 years since it was dropped (never leaving the chart). And "No More Dream" was the first BTS song to debut in the Billboard World Digital Songs at #14 which charted for 3 weeks on that chart. So there were a few achievements... maybe not in Korea, but it did have some success. Tbh I think there's more but I don't remember atm.

This video makes you think they did their research and then you realize they didn’t. It feels like they took away every bts fact and twisted it to their narratives, and by twisted it, I mean change it completely to whatever they want. If you want to talk about the kpop industry then do, if you want to talk about bts then do, if you want to talk about their connection and how bts holds in the kpop industry then do, but dig deep enough and understand both those subjects. One of the only truths in this video is the fact that army is protective and passionate and you’ll find this comment section filled with this proof. Bts didn’t just pop up to fame, they definitely built it up, and it’s not similar to any western boyband, nor a kpop group. SNS was definitely a way many got introduced to bts, but we are not here for some instagram models or youtubers, not that there is anything wrong with that, but we’re here for the music. Bts started SNS because tv was simply not possible for them, and it’s not even a matter of waiting in line, the gatekeeping is heavy, it wasn’t gonna happen and they needed an alternative, so that’s that, but the shocking fact that many people do not know is that fans signed up for a lot of those services for bts, and it created a community for the fans, surprisingly they brought us to social media, not the opposite, and I could go on forever about the other things in this video but I’m not going to because I know others will.

You worded it perfectly!!!! ARMYs know how BTS made it. All these achievements didnt happen overnight and certainly not just because theyre active on social media. It all boils down to their music, talent, passion, sincerity, artistry...the list goes on. And as long as these researchers refused to see that then they can forever wonder how bts became the biggest act in the world right now.

My dear armys really supporting this vdo? Im gonna list out the blatant flaws on this one. 1) the notion that they are popular as they are EXOTIC. Kpop has always been there, which is a different culture and something new bt which never blew up worldwide. So that argument is proved wrong. 2) gangnam style made kpop global: gangnam style was a trend, a one hit wonder which made kpop more stereotyped. 3) the whole video makes it look like “SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT” made BTS popular: other KPOP grps had more promo than bts thanks to their huge companies. So why did only BTS become popular? 4) comparing BTS with the whole notion of “MANUFACTURED KPOP INDUSTRY”. Thats the one biggest difference that sets apart BTS from the kpop industry. They are not controlled puppets who sing and dance to the songs company provides them with. They write their OWN songs and lyrics, have indepth conversation with fans abt the making of their albums and artistry. So the vdo makes it look like BTS are less than artists 5) the most important reason bts went popular : SINCERITY, PASSION and a mindset to talk about things that actually matter in ppls lives. Simple. (Pls note: the dkdktv guys arent the most credible ppl you can interview) Im not completely debunking the video. There are some good parts and research gone into it but so many things that are gonna give wrong views about BTS to the general public.

And what does Seotaji & The Boys got to do with BTS making it big internationally? I'm an Asian and live in Asia. I've known abt kpop since the 90's but have never heard abt this Seotaji group until BTS sings "Come Back Home". That D&*ny guy mentioned Seotaji as though just because Seotaji got popular for singing abt social issues, therefore that's why BTS also bcomes famous. Well... hello...! ARMYs around the world knew how Korean gp perceived BTS when they first started! They even ridiculed BTS's name. Even last year, 2018, BTS was still not well received by Korean gp (just watch videos made last year where youtubers went around asking the public what they think abt BTS. Many said they didn't know much abt BTS). BTS finally receives its well-deserved recognition by Korean mainstream media only this year. This docu is quite haphazard, the content is like a mashup of this and that put together just to meet a deadline.

Laili Johari exactly..BTS achievements have been done right. But suddenly they just want to club BTS into the “KPOP BOX” which they still arent. As we can see kpop is still building groups as if its a doll house and arranging their artists according to company rules..they are NOWHERE near BTS in achievements unlike the mediaplay most companies are playing which is mostly build around BTS. Im not disrespecting seo taji. He was like pioneer of something new in kpop but IN korea. Imagine how tired we are of repeating like a broken record that BTS and ARMY are NOT spokespersons of whole kpop.🤦🏻‍♀️ Even BTS themselves told that to reporters. They are happy to spread korean culture and language around the world but the TAG of KPOP will only bring them down.

@@user28221 Seo Taji & the Boys were the start of what is now considered Korean pop. Most Koreans trace this style of music back to them. Korean music was different before them. Mentioning Seo Taji & the Boys is just giving a history of the music. Also Seo Taji were a voice for that era's youth. I have no problem with what they said in regards to them. I don't even have a problem with the mention of Psy for history context of Korean music. It's when they basically put BTS into a Kpop box and make it seem like they're just another cog in the Kpop machine industry. This should have been about all of BTS differences that makes such a huge success instead of making it seem like the only reason they broke away from the pack is because of social media which is bs. I stan BTS first & foremost because of the music, their amazing lyrics and beautiful voices full of emotion. Next it's because of their personalities & the genuine caring men they are. Everything else including how gorgrous they are is just a bonus.

I'm 47 and I love, but I mean love their music, I sing their songs... Coming from the Caribbean and being multilingual has giving me the edge to know different kind of genre and rhythm, melodies, beats, etc... It's amazing how their music is so diverse and their lyrics that everybody can relate to in some way... and besides that... their visual for us viewers is just flabbergasting. And the best of all, social media has permitted us know these guys "personally" since day one... We know each and everyone their character , their way of being... I love each of them... Gross stereotyping and misinformation that doesn’t even apply to BTS. Shame on you and the reporters for this video. The narrative that BTS fans are all teengirls thirsting for something new and exotic is getting SO old already. If you want to talk about BTS, report about their come up story from rags to riches. Talk about their passionate, meaningful, universal lyrics and their genuine personalities. Something that isn’t about kpop, for god sakes. BTS isn’t controlled, they are grown men who make their own decisions. They are NOT perfect, they have never been perfect and they have always been open and honest about their mistakes. Their humanness is what has made them stand out over the rest of kpop in the first place. They have NEVER had plastic surgery, NOR do they feed into the delusion of playing the boyfriend role. BTS was never socially active with the intent to gain followers, this narrative is so false and sickening to fans who know this isn’t true. Their only intent for being so active and constantly releasing content was to share a connection with the people who support them. Their passionate fanbase grew because of the people they are, not because of their visuals or social media interaction BTS has always respected and treated their fans as if we are equal and not beneath them. Our celebrity-fan relationship is unlike any other.. it is unique. It’s platonic relationship in which BOTH parties benefit mentally, emotionally, spiritually. They work hard to show us how much they care too. Every member has suffered from their own pains in life, their own traumas, just like every human on earth does. The members have been so honest to share them with us and vice versa. We are open with each other, they read our letters, we read theirs. They know their fans and we know them. We have both learned from each other and helped each other grow in many ways personal to us, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Theses are all the things that make BTS unique and that’s why BTS is popular worldwide, not all of kpop.. And THIS is the reason why BTS is so popular, not all the bullsht you mentioned in the video

@@sallewellyn0 no, she doesn't. i am sorry if you think that we are immature but we just love them a lot and want them to get praised and reconized for what they did, not to be buried under kpop ideas. Bts is different because they came from a poor company and were originally meant to be a hiphop group that targeted male audience so that is why they didn't do plastic surgery, since their looks weren't considered important. Their company let them be their true selves and didn't control them like other companies. I just don't want the ppl seeing this to think my faves are some plastic dolls without free will
