Please guide me what does it actually mean: Resident Indians between 60 to 80 years of age will be exempted from long term capital gains tax if their annual income is within Rs 3.00lac. Then how much amount is exempted in respect of long term capital gains for sale of property in the above perspective as it is also quoted somewhere that income tax will be exempted on short term capital gains on sale of property if the profit ( or total taxable income) stays within Rs 3.00 lack. As in this example in this video - u have told if the stamp duty value is rs 68Lac & sale consideration amount is 60 Lac then the buyer have to add the difference of rs 8 Lac in his ITR as income from other sources & tax will be levied as per tax slabs. But what implications will be on buyer if the difference between the sale consideration amount & stamp duty value is Less than 10%. Lets say sale amount is rs 60Lac & stamp duty is rs 65Lac in your example. Regards
