Thanks for the vid Jack! I definitely learned a lot and you pointed out some things that I would have never noticed like the backboard hits, knowing when to demo, disappointing power shots etc. I've been trying to work on mechanics as I know everyone at my rank is way better than me so I've been practicing air dribbles but I'm just terrible at them! P.s. very happy to destroy all these twitch chat noobs in 1v1 anytime

12:15 Love that you called everyone out for this. In-game, things always feel faster because you’re multitasking with controlling your car, the ball, opponent’s positioning, teammate’s positioning, your boost, trying to think what you can/should do with the ball, etc. Whereas in a replay, all you have to think about is what so-and-so *should* do. You have a lot more time to process what’s happening, thus the gameplay seems slower. Anyways, been enjoying your content the past few days and subbed!

This is actually better than just watching a pro play. I after watching these reviews analysis as a C3 in 3s and 2s, I did made a better calls in rotations and ignoring back big boost and go for small pads and scoring a goal off of that. I would actually pay to get a review like that.

Regarding viewers that think their better, I think it's selective memory.. We tend to forget our 2-3 whiffs each game, being caught out of position frequently and just remember the one banger of a goal (after 3-4 scuffed shots) and that's the GC moment we tend to remember. Yeah this. Everyone in champ plays as well as a GC for like 10 % of the match, and they remember those 10 %. Similarly, even in diamond you can play like a GC 1 % of the time, but you're very delusional to compare yourself to GCs just because you made on good play. Consistency wins matches

as a GC i can say you have a good mindset for higher ranks, when you start realizing your own mistakes instead of letting your ego cloud your judgment/blaming teammates you can improve alot faster because you know what youll need to work on yea sometimes teammates ruin a play but most of the time their was something that you could have done better as well so realizing and working on your own faults is a great way to improve your play

@@zachcuster7528 Honestly why I think for somewhat lower ranked players that ranked 1's is great learning tool. It get's rid of the possibility of being able to blame your teammates while also helping you improve you're shots, positioning, defense (Especially this one Imo), and multiple more quality's. Its also not the hardest to get to high champ/GC in 1's even with limited mechanic's (I more so mean consistency of basic mechanic's but also higher level mechs as well.)

I would also say its pretty possible the guy who asked for the replay review didn't put his peak game because he actually want's to know what he's doing wrong instead of how good he might look while he's playing at his best.

@@Torpid6441 yea 1s can be good to focus on your inconsistencies with ball control and shots while also improving shadow defense only downside to it is it doesnt teach you anything about rotations which i feel like a lot of people struggle with even in higher ranks sometimes but 1s can definitely improve your game in certain aspects

One thing I’ve noticed, is he constantly dodges into the ball, even when his direction is going towards a wall. It keeps him from recovering faster. At 20:31 for example. If he just single jumped and fixed his car to land properly, or as best as possible on the wall, there may have been a chance for his team to not concede. Not guaranteed, but definitely a better opportunity for things to play out differently. Edit: I know he dodged just a little bit after his initial touch, but if he didn’t dodge, he would have recovered faster. My point still stands, as it’s not the only time he’s done this.

C3 2v2 keyboard and mouse here that can't speedflip, I wavedash recovery often, and my awareness exceeds my mechanics. Also limited soccar mechanics in particular as I'm a hoops main. It's like this video was made for me!

Like I've been stuck for both mechanical and game sense reasons before, so I've been both the "no mechs" dude and the "no gamesense" dude. mid to high c3 and i have gc mechanics but i would much rather have a teammate with no mechanics with a thought process similar to jacks. sure i have better control of my car, but i want a teammate who has good control of the game no matter their mechanics. there’s nothing that compares to a great pass or good awareness. following up touches and maintaining control of play requires minimal mechanics. just cause i spend more time in free play doesn’t mean i add any more to the team effort.

Honestly my wifi is really bad, so the majority of the time that I play rocket league I’m just in freeplay or workshop maps, so I think my game sense/positioning/decision making is what I’m lacking. My mechanics are getting pretty good honestly, which makes it a lot more boring to play rocket league Bc there isn’t much for me to improve on in terms of freeplay mechanics(obviously I’m sure there’s a lot for me to improve on but when you’ve played the game for 1100 hours and over 3/4 of them are in freeplay, it’s hard to know what to improve on)

I'm C3 (like you?) and in the same boat. I had an idea that I'm trying this week. Since I can save any shot at this rank fairly easily, and convert most clean posessions into goals with dribles, I tried for a whole session to just sit back in my half with boost, maintaining speed. And even when I can beat opponents to the ball or my mate, I just don't. I keep myself ready, fishing all the time, while doing minimum with the ball. Turns out it was the easiest session of my life, and I won nearly every game, going on a massive win streak. Since I saved the shots, and always had boost to score the occasional open net. Meanwhile, my mates would ballchase deep in the enemy half like crazy, and I actually preferred that. I would just patiently save many shots, and pick up free goals from whenever the opponents messed up. My theory is that a mechanical player should not create or force plays. If you're the most mechanical player in the lobby, and you just keep your boost and position safe, nobody can score on you. And it's very unlikely you won't get multiple free possessions underways, which you now have space and boost to convert to goals.

this isnt because the old gc was 1515 and now the gc is 1400 ( the old mmr for champ 3 ) ? i tought that was because they decreased 100 MMR , ngl if you are not 1535 ( gc2 ) i consider ppl under it champ 3 - 2
