He left a few out... 1. Try checking the tack strip under carpet if present. 2. Check the back of base trim for growth/water damage 3. use a sharp object like an ice pick or utility knife and press into an inconspicuous area of the suspect wall area. Sheetrock which has taken on water and then dries out on it's own will harden like a rock. It will take very little effort to penetrate unaffected sheetrock. Water damaged sheetrock will either cut like butter when wet, or it will be hard as a rock when it's dry.

I will tell you how I found a massive amount of mold, I just moved into an apartment and hung a pucture on the wall 2 weeks later I wanted to move it. And they was black spots on the back of my art work. Also some blk and green spots on wall of that area. The whole apartment complex had to evict us to repair water damage, plus pay us $$$.

​@@ohyesitsyouagain A-holes. It's mold that can kill you. Report the conditions to your city & county building inspectors. Hire an attorney if you can afford it. If the mold is making you sick find a doctor that truly understands mold illness (not easy) so you can document that it is making you sick. Some health conditions that can be caused by living with mold get diagnosed as chronic fatigue syndrome and/or fibromyalgia. Brain fog, fatigue, skin rashes, respiratory symptoms are all side effects of mold toxicity.

Another consideration for destructive means of mold assessment is the potential for the disturbance of federally regulated materials such as asbestos and/or lead based paint. Ask an IAQ pro such as Clark Seif Clark, Inc. (CSC) or any other IAQA member to advise you or to test before you make any cuts.

I cut some holes in the wall like this video suggested after a roof leak. There is definitely some mold growth behind one wall. There are other walls where I put a camera inside the hole, but there is no visible indication of mold growth, but the holes reek of fungus. What do I do? There's a mold smell, but no visible signs of mold.

Call a Pro for inspection (they have cameras like how they inspect your sewer line). They can also determine *what kind* of mold is in there, including Lab documentation. STRONGLY recommend you not try to save money by doing it yourself. One tiny mistake could leave you/your fam affected by mold spores which can be debilitating or even deadly should you manage to ingest spores. The human body is the perfect combo of moisture and warmth, to support mold growth that could be locked in before you realize you should see a Dr. Good Luck.

My landlord won’t take care of the mold and stagnant water in my unit and I swear I feel like I’m in here just slowly suffocating. Go figure immunocompromised with lung disease and instead of taking care of the problem she gives me a 30 day vacate notice. I’ve been there since February, wth I don’t extra money for moving expenses AGAIN. I still haven’t got a stimulus payment... more bullshit to deal with there, omg like everything is going wrong in my life right now and I’m tripping just trying to stay alive. I guess I’ll be lucky if I make it to my 50th bday at the end of May. Happy Birthday gtfo of the dump unlivable property you’ve been paying your rent on, on time as always they even raised my rent in April. Call you town's health department. They come in and give a landlord a couple weeks to fix or they condemn the place. At that point he would have to pay for your stay in a hotel or move.

There's also a few other options. 1. Gut the entire inside of the house and get everything treated. 2. Sell your house to a house flipper and get the f-ck outta there.
