What’s the opportunity cost of retaining this land for farming? Let’s assume the carbon calculator she used is accurate, is the amount of carbon sequestered on this land more or less than the carbon that would be sequestered if the land was wild? About 85% of our farmland (60% of the UK) is used for meat production, providing about 13% of our calories. We have some of the lowest remaining forest cover globally (10% in England). Is extensive livestock farming how we want to use our land?
