I have always loved this lady's voice and am saddened to only learn now that she has passed on. Jean Redpath helped to rediscover music of Scotland, lost at home but preserved across the Atlantic. What a labour of love and what infectious enthusiasm she displayed, a warm and vital personality which was evident in her beautiful singing voi.

OH How I wish I had found this great Scottish Folk Singer earlier in my life --I first heard Jean sing on A Prairie Home Companion some time in the mid to late 1980's and have been a follower of her since that time --What a loss to the World of Great Scottish Music

I belonged to an amateur Scottish dance performance group in Boston called The New Caledonians. Every January we had the privilege of working along side Jean Redpath (and Robert J Lurtsema of WGBH) at Harvard's Sanders Theatre for a full on Burns Night celebration. Glorious. And what a nice human being.
