Take a GOOD look at Jade's right teat. This (or a previous) baby has bitten down so hard the nipple is nearly severed. If the mother's do not control their babies feeding habits they will treat the milk bar like a dogs chew-toy! Every time the baby tries to nurse on the damaged side or when the teat is engorged with milk Jade is in terrible pain. What do wild animals do when they are in a large amount of pain? These wild animals are primates as you already know, and so are we. We share 93% DNA with them, and 98,8 DNA with a Chimp. They are called tree primates, and we are called ground primates. We have been taught to be civilized and that is why most of us don't act wild and stupid. But just the same, these monkeys are very intelligent but just not educated or taught to be civil, so that is why they act the way that they do. You take a baby monkey and grow it up to be civil and it will have manners and act way smarter than the ones living without being taught anything. We would be that way too. I think it would be interesting to take a tribe of male and female babies, teach them, let them grow up and mate and have babies and then watch how they act as they raise them. Of course, if something like that were to happen, they would be friendly towards humans which isn't a bad thing. I would love to see them learn, to see how much smarter they would be. Why not, they are primates just as we are. I am not saying that we are a monkey, but we are definitely a primate just as they are. Primate: Any air breathing being that has a hand with five fingers that has fingernails and not claws. I have a lot of questions and a whole lot of interest in these guys. And seriously, these guys really are very intelligent and could be taught a lot. It would only make them smarter. Also, just for the sake of letting it be known, some of those older monkey babies that are very aggressive about not getting off of their mothers are usually retarded and that is why they act the way that they do.

When she's a little older (4 to 6 weeks) she's an infant, then when she's up around, following mom, riding on back & learning to forage she's a toddler, then after first year, year and a half, they are adolescents, then 2 to 3 years old they are juveniles! By 2-1/2 to 3 a lot of females get pregnant, far too young!! In the wild, females don't typically get pregnant until they are at least 5. Males aren't sexually mature in the wild until they are 6 to 8, however, in these parks where the monkey's are semi-wild, males are sexually mature at 4 or 5. So I don't understand what your point is! Julina, in this video is a newborn at 12 days old, just as a human baby would be. OK, now I get your point. She feeds them plenty of milk but the baby wants to cling and nurse constantly and she can't move freely if she needs to defend them against something. She is weaning the baby so it doesn't nurse 24/7. She bites the lips so baby can't nurse for a little while to give her a break and teach the child to not nurse all the time. That baby is fat, healthy, bright eyed, pink faced. It's not dull eyed or have a hollow gaunt face. That baby is well fed but needs to learn limits and boundaries and mom is teaching it.

5:45 the newborns always look so awkward trying to hold on to mom 😂. Like even though they are pros at holding on with their Velcro like grip, they still haven’t quite gotten the hang of it. So instead they end up hanging on with their legs at weird angles and awkwardly gripping on the ends of moms hair lol. I feel like that’s why Jade always has such a huge problem with her kids when they are first born and will do things like at 5:20 where she tries to move and awkwardly looks down, or like at 7:34 where Juliana isn’t hanging on correctly, so Jade bites and yanks her off till Juliana finally lets go and then Jade scoops her up and puts her on her belly correctly like at 7:55.

Jade is smart like Anna, limit and wean young straight after birth. They both know how quickly they become aggressive and persistent when they try to force their mothers to give in and allow them to nurse whenever they want, this is why these macaque mothers should start limiting and weaning early to show their offspring who really are in control with authority then letting their offspring demand them. Jade is smart because she aims to bite their mouths, that’s a better hint than constantly pushing off like what Anna does. Anna prefers her offspring not to cling onto her. While Jade prefers her offspring not to nurse 24/7 so she’ll bite her offsprings mouth proving her point that she’s not happy with them constantly wanting to nurse which of course the offspring will understand that lesson faster because of the pain Jade gave after every time they tried to latch and their swollen lips and face is a reminder of what happens when they keep trying to nurse without jades permission, the smartest thing Jade does is she inflicts this pain not long after birth too. Once their born they tend to latch on and aren’t even nursing at all and letting them do that makes them accustomed to it and expect to be able to do it whenever they want, Jade stops that early. She won’t allow her offspring to disrespect her by using her tits as pacifiers. Instead Jade makes sure to only let her offspring nurse when needed and not to loll her offspring into sleep while letting use her tits as a pacifier so they’ll sleep knowing they have firm grips on them and Jade won’t take it away. That’s usually the whole point of why all macaque offsprings want and do, claiming their mothers tits whether if they are hungry or not because they don’t want their mothers keeping it from them when they want it or refusing to allow them access when they demand to have it. That excessive and demanding commands shouldn’t be allowed but many of their mothers aren’t willing to waste their energy, time or effort to wean correctly so their young will be the most difficult to properly wean when need to and those mothers will have the hardest times in handling their young when it comes to finally doing it. Mothers fault when they don’t demonstrate their control and authority when their young is first born, they already gave their offspring all the power from the start and now the mothers have to struggle to get that power back which always ends up a losing battle for these type of mothers because the offspring they raised like that will never give back power to their mothers and will put up major fights and end up being the winners over their mothers attempts. Only determined mothers can successfully manage to wean properly even after giving power to their young, but it always is a tough battle to win.

This mom finally had enough with the newborn constantly trying to feed. However, it's still too young to begin the weaning process if it's just a few days old. Even tho I think that these animals need to be weaned at a very young age, not that young! I like that this mom didn't put up with alot. The newborn was trying to suckle every second in which that's what they do. It's in their nature, they can't help it but this mom is teaching her early to stop that habit from forming. It's good!

Baby Julia still has the umbilical cord so she can only be 1 to 2 days old. She is way to young to wean and she needs the milk every couple of hours for a week or 2. Normally macaque monkeys nurse their babies for 4 months straight before they slowly begin the weaning process which takes 12 to 15 months. Mothers milk is very important for the baby's emotional, physical, and social development otherwise they cans grow up with issues like we see in this mother.

I know this is an old post but I'm gonna comment anyway. She is not starving them at all. She doesn't let them nurse constantly because for one they don't need to. Just like a human baby they need 10-20 minutes every two to three hours. If they nursed constantly they would drain mom dry of all the nutrients she also needs for survival. Moms wean early for many reasons one of which is winter is coming and she needs to survive too. Dead or weak mom can't protect helpless new born. The other reason is it teaches them to forage, walk, play, explore etc instead of always having their face buried in moms chest. They also get sore from too much nursing just like a human mom. There are so many other things I could put in here but those are a couple of the bigger reasons
