Is #nicaragua the secret to an #earlyretirement ? Can you live in paradise and somehow make more, save more, and not just enter #retirement early but also live a life that feels more like retirement before you even get there? We dig into that topic today.

Love your show as usual my wife and I are coming down in five days. That is exactly what we are planning on doing retiring at 48 years old and I have just now come up with a great idea. I will be your sidekick. Lol

Really good stuff Scott, I just found your channel this morning & have watched several of your videos already. I've been working thru my "retirement" plan for many years now, Mexico's Riviera Maya, Belize, Panama & I just spent a month in Jamaica for the first time. They've all been some of my favorite Caribbean locations I've been searching to setup a combination Scuba Diving/Coral Reef Restoration conservation project facility focused around the Wounded Warriors & the Veterans communities I'm a part of & along with giving back to the local indigenous communities & environment at the same time. But back on point, the low Social Security Retirement & income requirements for Nicaragua are really appealing for me as part of the "Baby Boomer" generation. Anyway I'll shoot you a video or two in the next day or so with some questions maybe you can help me with exploring Nicaragua as another location option, thanks again excellent intel brother! 😎

My wife and I are thinking about it. We are Canadian. We also have a 5 year old. We are thinking about homeschooling our boy. Just wondering about private school too. Just to help into integration into society. My wife s trilingual, but I am English only. Working on my Spanish. Liking Leon, for its proximity to the Ocean and cost of living. Also, I've heard the city is well educated with great schools. Are you homeschooling? How are you educating your children? Great show. I'm subscribed.
@ScottAlanMillerVlog
@ScottAlanMillerVlog Ай бұрын
There is a lot ot question there. Would private school actually help with integration? Does that type of integration have benefits? Your kids will never be Nicaraguan completely, does it make sense to attempt to be? Or does a better home life / better education trump that? Most of the top echelons of Nicaraguan society use excuslive private schools locally and abroad that totally remove the "integration" aspect. Does it really do anything? I was private and public schooled in the US and what did it get me? Not integration, that's for sure. It wasn't bad, per se, lots of good to it. But integrate me it did not. And would I want to have been? It's a big topic. Every kid has their own needs. We homeschool. We've lived in eight countries and our kids are never going to be mistaken for Nicaraguan kids. Going to public or private school would just set them back and make for big challenges. But that's our kids. Yours, being younger, might manage to fit in to a point where it makes sense.

There are a lot of private schools in Nicaragua. Just have to take your time and do a lot of research. Stay away from public schools. In my opinion, homeschooling may isolate your child from the outside world. Probably be a good idea to get into a good private school.

I used to live in DC, Managua is SO much better. Safer, obviously, but nicer, better culture, nightlife. DC is so gross and dangerous. My old bar was gunned down by the mafia, luckily on a night I was out.

Hello Scott! Whats the différence between the « Tourist visa » and the « Retiree Visa » ? ( if there is a différence..) What is the best ? We have bought recently a piece of land in the south of Nica. As soon as we sell the house, we are moving! Thanks very much for your inspiration !
@ScottAlanMillerVlog
@ScottAlanMillerVlog Ай бұрын
The tourist visa is the automatic "everyone gets it" on arrival visa that gives you up to 180 days before you must go out over a hard border and return (border run.) A retiree visa is one of the suite of "permanent" residency visas that eliminate the requirement of doing a border run (but require cedula check ins every six months.) One isn't better than the other, they are two very different approaches to staying in the country and you would pick one or the other based on needs (or eligibility).

Tons. I have easily dozens of episodes on it. I've purhcased multiple times here. There is a LOT to know. Most importantly, don't even think of researching, let alone buying, from abroad. Everything you see is fake. EVERYTHING. So much more than you can even imagine.

He tapks about this in MANY videos. You can search for them...but basically you don't need to establish residency to live here (as im visiting nica for possible relocation now), nor should you want to unless there is a very specific reason for it.

Hey MissJonie! Yes, of course I know people. But you want to be living here a long time before even considering a residency option under all but the rarest circumstances. What makes you want to do so on arrival?
