I have a few concerns, does that affect the nutrients that the grapes should have going into your body vs a natural seeded grape? what's the difference? and does eating seedless grapes have a negative affect on your body ? I'm wondering because I eat red grapes all the time for the phytochemical resveratrol.

I used to eat seeded grapes when i was a kid. The ones in the store were the same but had two seeds per grape and the flavor was stronger right around the seed. When we migrated to seedless I used to think that they tasted a bit bland but now if you want seeded grapes you have to get the globe grapes that have like 20 seeds in each.

I must have missed the part about how seedless varieties are selected hybrids of a diploid and a hexaploid creating a sterile triploid plant that doesn't produce viable seeds. Bananas and watermelon are seedless in the same way

What concerns me now is that ROOTING HORMONE?! Besides, non hybrid fruits are much healthier, together with seeds
@dirtydan2721
@dirtydan2721 2 жыл бұрын
Rooting hormone is used for basically every tree, vine, and plant that is commercially grown. The hormone is used to initially make the cutting root, it does not stick with the cutting for the 3 to 5 years it would take for the fruit to start growing. There is no significant amount of "rooting hormone" in any foods you consume, the amount is so miniscule that even if it did manage to survive in the vine for 3 years it would not be able to poison / effect a human in any meaningful way.

so, does the seedless fruit carry the same nutritions as seeded fruit???
@RogerDayMarketing
@RogerDayMarketing 7 жыл бұрын
No. The grape seed has antioxidants called OPCs (Oligomeric proanthocyanidins). The grape skin has healthy polyphenols like resveratrol and ellagic acid. BTW, the American muscadine grape is a stronger source of those antioxidants and polyphenols than European grapes. The flesh of the grape has some fibre.

I would think the skins are still good with resveratrol (sp?) which I think darker grapes have more of, maybe not. Yes seeds are very high in antioxidants. You can get grape seed oil from most stores and it’s mild and inexpensive and great for cooking. High burn point. Calm flavor.

There are so many varieties of grape that this is a non-issue. Nowhere out there grows grapes by seed because it's nonsense and there's no point in doing so. When you're growing a vine you take a cutting and it easily grows on its own when properly planted. This vine establishes much quicker and produces fruit quicker than something grown from seed. It is also how they grow most trees. Basically cuttings are an essential part of growing nearly all fruits and many fruits still contain seeds but there's nothing weird or abnormal about using cuttings.
@Zweizzz
@Zweizzz 11 жыл бұрын
Fruits are actually mechanisms to spread seeds of a tree around. The sweeter the fruit, the higher the chance something will eat it, and poop out it's seeds in a new location, ready to grow.
@imiguifurr
@imiguifurr 6 жыл бұрын
I mean, not really, most mammals aren't supposed to eat the fruits, we have large teeth we use to crush them, so it doesn't work well with most plants, that's why many of them like peppers developed capsaicin, it only affects mammals so birds, who won't chew and damage the seeds, can eat and distribute the fruit

The method that you said does it only works for grapes, or it works for other fruit too???? wait a minute, you have to dip the cutting plant into the rooting Hormon before plant it???? when we plant it, do we have to bury the whole cutting plant under the soil in order for it to work????

Does being seedless affect the flavor of grapes? It certainly does with watermelons. As in grapes, thier seeds are underformed and therefore edible. The term "seedless" being a misnomer. However, seeded watermelons taste much sweeter. But most grocers fail to stock them because seeded ones are less popular with thier customers. Apparently, people sacrifice flavor for convenience. Is the same true with grapes?
