@@grahamwalker5015 Thank you so much!! I'm so glad I've been able to help. Were you able to access the Design Tools in your Canvas? It's interesting how some schools/institutions have access and some don't. I'm teaching a course at one university where they don't have access to it and I'm trying to see if I can create it with the tools in another school Canvas and then import it into another one and still have the design. A work in progress! I'm always looking for those little tips and tricks 😂

Design Tools is a third-party add on to Canvas, produced by Cidi Labs. It must be purchased by your institution.

Glad it helped! Just start with a few simple updates that you feel would enhance your courses. It's all about the little steps and small wins! I'm starting with just updating new homepages with that banner element. It's pretty wild how much nicer it looks with a few clicks 😂 I wish every single institution bought into the subscription for this additional third party app! Makes life just a little easier for us right?

@@VirtualTeachingPro I'm using Canvas at a university and they have all the fancy stuff, I've been thinking about moving into Canvas for classes I teach independently of the university but I'm getting all spoiled by the University perks and wondering what it's going to cost me to independently replicate those perks. Hmm. Meantime though your tutorials are so helpful I wouldn't be spoiled at all by any perks or functioning well in Canvas without your great clips to study up with to get a handle on Canvas and its bells and whistles. Thank you again for the great clips.

Do you still like the Due Date Modifier in the Multi-Tool after Canvas added the feature into "Assignments"?

I have a free-for-teachers account and I don't see an option for multi tools or the design tools when I hit the keyboard combination you mentioned. How can I find out more about improving the design of my course without the use of this tool? It appears that it is not available to users like me.

it's probably because you're using the free version with does not offer all the features with the paid version.

Hi there! I was wondering if anyone knows why I cannot add the Rocket tools to my Canvas shell? I've tried the Alt-Shift-D method and looked everywhere to manually add it. Could it be that my institution does not have access to these features, or am I missing something? I have access at the other universities I teach at, but one in particular wont seem to populate.

If Alt-Shift-D / Option-Shift-D doesn't reveal the tools, your institution likely doesn't have a contract for it. The Design Tools Sidebar is part of DesignPLUS (a product from Cidi Labs).
