How Capistrano Unified School District Eliminates 9,000 Pounds of Plastic Per Year

In January 2018, the students of Capistrano Unified School District came together to reduce single use plastic at their schools. Through this student-led initiative JUST Water was brought in to replace PET plastic water bottles as a sustainable option. The action by these students, led to a district wide change, a shift in mindset, an acknowledgement if we don’t make a change today for tomorrow, when tomorrow comes, it’s potentially too late.
A year later, the district has eliminated nearly 9,000 lbs of plastic from its campuses and has shown the power of collective action!
