I cannot believe how many fans think it stopped at the end of the anime, and miss out on so many amazing stories! I'm glad you read the manga, and I sincerely hope it will one day be published outside of Japan, so that the greatest number of fans can get to discover the entirety of Tsubasa's journey!

Totally agree !! I´m from Argentina and by having grown with a foot ball always around, I instantly connected with this anime. I think that the feeling of being watching a shonen that´s about saving the world instead of a simple football match is because the mangaka succeded in the most important aspect of sport... And that is playing with the heart, and while that means you might suffer from time to time, at the end you´ll know that you did your best and you´ll try even harder next time. No matter if it´s a world cup final, a tournament or a match during the 15´minute break in elementary school (best ones) you would always feel that you´re trying to save the world, because that is what getting the ball inside that net represents... To win the game. To save your world.

Hey! Absolutely Fantastic Video The Info,narration,quality,Everything in the video was spot on and total fax 💯 I loved it :) and I was looking for a review on Captain Tsubasa but somehow this came up and I’m soooo glad it did But anyways as a matter of fact it’s actually had a Major impact on my life as well 😊 A few years ago I just slipped apon this anime through a WC game between Belgium 🇧🇪 and Japan 🇯🇵 where I saw A Large poster of Tsubasa then I decided to research this and found out it was the anime/manga Captain Tsubasa I started watching it from the start and I loved it and Because of it I decided I wanted to become a pro footballer and now I’m way way more into the sport itself :) I’m glad I’m still young 😂😇 I’m so glad it’s had an impact in yours and other peoples lives as well for one way or another and I hope it continues to do so for everyone whether they like the sport or not This is a must watch :)

I grew up watching the original series here in South America and I love it dearly, but I personally think that the J version is the best version of them all. Saint Seiya and Captain Tsubasa changed my life in ways that I can't even explain. I have the traits of Hyuga so it was too easy to see myself portraited in his story. It made me feel comfortable with my aggressive approach to life and that there was nothing wrong with me for smiling less than others; his character also taught me that things in life weren't easy and that you have to invest hours and hours on something in order to develop a craft or a goal.

I absolutely love this anime It's the first and only anime series I've ever watched I watched and even rewatched every version of captian tsubasa (except the very first one) I watched this version, the 2001-2002 version and the 2018 version and this month the season 2 of 2018 version came out and I'm very excited This series didn't effect my life that much, it only gave me a football phase but it was one of the best series I've watched as a kid. In my opinion every version of captian tsubasa was amazing in it's own way and it will forever be one of the best and most inspirational anime in history

I found this show by playing pirated version of the game on some nintendo like console. The main protagonist name was Robin. It was so over the top and I loved it. Around that time we found the show on cabel tv. It was in german, but we realized that it's actually what inspired the game. The show and the game still tickles me in a great way.

Im lucky enough to have lived in colombia in early 90s and got to catch this show before i moved back to the states, I loved it, i wasnt even an athletic kid but it made me wanna play futbol even tho i sucked at it lol.

Thank for this really amazing video. My mom watched the 1983 one and was recommending it so i watched the 2018 remake. Im trying to become a pro football player even though im already 18, however, this show gives me motivation and made me truly understand the principles of defying the odds, fighting until the end, and the importance of being a leader. 12:30 I can relate to this alot, I think what you and I go through when it comes to struggling to describe the cultural importance of something to an entire world that never heard of it was pretty much the plot of that mediocre movie Yesterday, about living in a world where the Beatles never existed. Explaining to the Anitube sphere why Captain Tsubasa is medium defining for the anime industry sounds to me like the equivalent of anitube never knowing what Dragon Ball Z even is, much less its impact on culture that's toe to toe with Captain Tsubasa's. (If it remained outside of the West, hypathetically.) My point is, Captain Tsubasa isn't JUST the DBZ of Soccer anime, it's a DBZ in of itself.

The original 1983 anime adaptation is the only one worth watching in my opinion. The convergence of excellent animation, great pacing, great action, great and iconic voice acting, and, above all, GREAT SOUNDTRACK, has yet to be matched by the later iterations. The more recent versions are pretty much unwatchable. Devoid of any soul and charm with lifeless techno music for a soundtrack.

Even today I'm still continuing to follow Tsubasa's story through the Olympics (what a masterpiece !). Wow, astonishing video as always. Also, when you went on a ramble at 12:30 or so, about you not being able to describe how much the show means to you, i don't know how you felt after you finished the video, but in my eyes when i reached the end of the video i can wholeheartedly say that yes, you accomplished what you set out to do, not only that but you also moved me, where i may not be interested in sports anime or Captain Tsubasa but i'll always remember it from that one video that i saw on YT about how it changed someones life.

That’s awesome. I hope you enjoy it then. Worth pointing out, but the 90s version of the Anime doesn’t have all of the episodes subtitled in English. But reading the manga is just as good. Or you can always watch the original version of the Anime done in the 80s (though it is long)

In my opinion the best tsubasa is in the first season after the time skip, where he had the ultimate shot and his shoulder was injured along with his foot and how hyuga pushed him to stay up and continue fighting the whole game

Hey,i just got this video reccommended,and i gotta say,great video,and i agree whit everything you said(other than the best version of the anime,because the og is the best for me,maybe because of the intro song too,because i'm italian)but i never watched the 80's version,so i cannot say if i prefer the og or j,but its on my top 3 anime whit db.
