Car slides are essential to every household with a toddler. (especially if you're wanting to make your toddler talk). It's easy to play, self-explanatory and children love watching cars slide down all day.
All the tips and tricks we talk about here is what we use at our clinic on a daily basis. This what we cover:
General suggestions - 0:00
Teaching "Open" - 01:02
Play sequence - 01:59
Open palm gesture - 02:44
Guessing game - 02:54
1,2,3 GO! - 03:23
Teaching words - 04:01
Answering questions - 04:54
Keeping it fun and more questions- 05:39
Free Checklist - 07:41
Having a strong sequence or routine for a toy is very important. You have to be careful not to allow your child to access all the cars in one go. So that you can slowly level up the fun.
Then by adding different objects or other cars and transportation, you can actually start to slide things that might not be appropriate for the slide and teach some basic "what's wrong" and logical thinking.
Thank you for watching! Please like this video and share it with friends who need this information.

I do this with my grandsons. Also i get on the floor and play with them. I talk to my grandsons who are on the spectrum the same way I raised my two boys who were not

Hi Ming, I followed your instruction and today is the first day that we played with car slides together. My boy was so addicted to the game that he did not want it to stop. And when I had to stop as of bed-time, he cried for 12 minutes straight. I felt bad for putting the toy away. I tried to calm him down by counting but could not stop it. I felt bad for taking away his favourite toy till now. pls tell me i did the right thing not giving in 😔. Thank you, Ming. I could not imagine my boy got so addicted to such a game. And he actively talks some words without being prompted. 🥰

I have been applying all these techniques I learn from you and the things I learned from Miss Rachel. My baby doesn’t have speech delay but wow her vocab has been expanding like crazy. These are very good videos in general for first time parents. Parents should always been playing with their babies in this type of way, speech delay or not.

@@blackwaterfrost7082 hi my baby is 22 months. She started talking around 12 months. I used a lot of the techniques taught by speech therapists. I really like the “ready set go” technique and the bubble one. Highly recommend.

This is absolutely perfect strategy. Don’t forget the SoCial emotional development that happens just by playing with a child and their toys as well. Absolutely brilliant!

Hi Ming, my toddler is 16 months old and will be 17 months soon. She is still not calling mama and baba specifically. The word she used the most now is "mummum" which means eating. Should I worry? is the speech delay micro course published on your website suitable and useful for my case? Thank you.

Hi Ming, such a delightful video, and I bought this and also Mr. Potatohead as well. The problem is, our daughter (4.5 year old, non verbal ASD), is not so much into new toys. So, when we introduce this or Mr Potatohead, she doesn't 'buy' it. I mean even when we visited Toys r us, she is not interested into any of those toys. And same thing goes to books. I mean, there are some sensory or puzzle toys that she can play, or some books that she likes to go through. But introducing new ones has been a challenge. Kindly advise if there's any tips/approach for this.

Hey Marcel, you should use a reward that she likes to teach everything for non-verbal children. I would strongly suggest you use something she really likes, and give it to her after she tries playing with you, even a little bit.

I will apply this with my 2.7 years old boy. My Question is... english is'nt our native language and not the language of our society. But my son learns some words already from cartoons he watched, so I decided to play along and spoke to him more in english. Now when he goes out there is no one else speaking english and he avoids people... Now when I try to start teaching him to speak in our language at 2.6 yrs....he just kind of stopped communicating even in english...I think i've got him all confused and guilty.... I don't know what to do now... 😢😢

my baby is 18 mos old but only speaks mama and papa (most of the time) clearly. she knows how to act words just like the wheels on the bus song and can dance it. she can interact socially when playing but doesnt really speak at all - thats why im starting to be worried. we also stopped her from using the mobile phone but we let her watch on the tv, should we also cut it out?

Hi Ming! I have a 2 year old son. What if toddler won’t use the word open and shakes his head no and throws a little tantrum bc he’s impatient and wants to see the car slide down quicker?

Then you should accept the use of a gesture or even just the sound, and let him play asap!
