One thing most players fail to understand about Stardust: Aurelion doesn't need to kill anything inside his E to get stardust, he just needs things to DIE inside his E, no matter the source of what kills them. You can let a wave push to your tower, E it, and then not get a single cs but you will still get stardust for every death. It's a massive help for stacking early and the literal 0 dmg dealt by E + the execute threshold will almost guarantee that you will get most minions.

I think that the drag in of the e not counting as a slow making it synergies with slow effects (since only one slow can be applied at once) is like the biggest issue on new asol , making it rly hard to push in the lategame against him. I like how u still mentioned vlad and kassa. I dont think of asol as a huge issue as those 2 abomination mentioned. They just have way to safe lanes (free sustain on minions why ever ) while asol can be punished rly hard at least.

Catalyst of Aeons is great for sustaining in lane, you get mana when you get hit and you restore health when using mana (which as aurelion, you're going to be doing loads of anyway). It probably isn't optimal but if you're building rod and you're not having a great time surviving it might help.

Asol player here! I'd like to add something I don't rly see anyone do. You can cancel your w while still using q if you're in a good spot (retap w). I actually saw a lot of people miss kills or dmg because they canceled everything with right click or because they fly too far.

One (possibly inefficient but favored by me) strat is to max E first. It deals enough damage to clear waves when used correctly, Q still hurts because it also scales with level. Tear also isnt needed in the beginning and I usually dont buy it because with tear, Rylais and Mythic (RoA) your inventory is already way too full to put any real defensives or situationals in without giving up boots. The big thing about E max tho is that you have to interact with your lane opponent way less. With matchups like vs. Syndra you will get punished pretty much every time you go for a Q. Thats where E shines in giving you nice range for a lower but still fine damage output. E also helps you keep up with stacks without dying. When I play against ASols and pick Syndra (which is a really bad matchup nonetheless, dont get me wrong) they usually dont even get a lot of stacks in and have like 100 at the 20 minute mark. E gives you a consistent way of aquiring stacks without risking too much. You also dont really need maxed Q that early, channeling during W is unlimited anyways and it only eats up mana. During an average you dont really stand in place Q-ing for over 3 seconds in combat, so there is really no need. Also, mid-20 minutes is the best time for ASol and you will have Q maxed by that time anyways. Is it optimal? Probably not. Is it safe, frees up an item slot and is way less stressful to play? For me, at the very least, it is.

It's ineffficient strat for sure and not optimal, but at least you've got some good reasoning with match ups and such. Sadly not only it's suboptimal but they'll be nerfing it next patch too, since E cd will be now 12 sec flat CD, instead of scaling down to 10. Which ironically won't make Q max Sols feel it at all, while it will low key shit on your strat.

@@googlepoodle5814 Nah, you're already champion that feels weak pre 9 since Q doesn't infinitely scale, and you really can't rely on W part where it's infinite. The better elo you play in the more you have to Q for 1-2 seconds, then W and Q for another 1-2 seconds and again stop W so you can Q from the ground again. Movement is too good on people, and since you don't insta kill anyone before solid 4 items, nor your Q is long enough to simply follow them you have to play around. My suggestion against such hard match ups is : 1. Dodge, let's be real. 2. Play with runes, will you win that match up with more damage? No. So don't go damage, no FS nor Comet, go for spell book, which should give you health rotation of barrier/exhaust/heal/ghost to survive all ins. Added benefit is you can actually take clarity with spellbook and sort of cheat 2 more waves when you look like you're oom. Secondary runes you go Boneplating and Overgrowth, that should give you another safety blanket versus tristana/sylas/yone all ins. 3.Face the fact you won't be carry that game. Even once you get 2 items the match up won't turn in your favor, so you have to play as anti carry and use macro. If you're facing Yone, your job isn't to kill him, your job is to live under your tower making him mald but also stay healthy enough so if ever he chooses to rage roam on your bot, you shove in 2 waves fast and take one plate. You wouldn't believe how many times I've won against diamond/master yone players that simply lost their mental. I go in the game knowing I'm his b*tch and I act accordingly. I contest no CS, I go for no poke, I only flop my c*ck out when I'm under my tower in safety but I shove that way like a annoying cockroach once he's gone from lane. They simply lose the mental game, either diving me and going 1 for 1, which is in my favor, or rage roaming around coin flipping. Can he get fed off roams and carry his team? Sure, but that's the thing when you play Anivia, Veigar or Sol, it's not your fault, you can't follow. Your team can play accordingly and back off or int, not your fault. You're already *sshole for picking Sol to behonest, that's like picking Kayle, you're already saying ''Guys, for first 15 min I need you to give them everything'' and honestly, that's enough to lose many games with aggro players that like to coin flip level 1. But who cares, if you're deciding on playing Sol, you're already committed to it, all you can do is actually do your scaling part and scale, then carry later. P.S. You can't really fly away from Tristana if you aren't Ring behind yourself. Any competent Tristana will manage to blow her E on you while you're flying away if she used W on top of you, then reset her W and jump again. Since your W is so small early levels Trist must be bad to not follow you. She can also R you out of your W too, which sounds like saving you but 3-4 autos and fully stacked E, plus ignite and R damage means you still die, just a screen away from her. Besides, any good Trist mid would just stand in front of her minions zoning you from ever casting E in the first place first 3 levels.

I have been going for a Rod Of Ages into Rylai's into comic drive or horizon focus and lastly Rabadon. For shoes sorcerers shoes are almost always the best option. I dont like the Liandry's build at all. Rod Of Ages gives sustain and mana regen in the early game and a lot of bonus stats in the mid game if you finish it fast enough. None of my Other items have any mana or mana regen Thats how Good Rod Of Ages is in keeping your mana pool alive. Just make sure to not abuse your Q on minninons and you are good to go.

If you get the full Rod before your rylais, your free level won't have as much impact as it would after getting rylais because it takes more and more exp to level up. Also the utility from Rylais is just too good to ignore

My strategy is to play sol in the botlane. If you play him mid, you're just giving the enemy prio to roam permanently and win the game before you spike. Not to mention how vulnerable he is in lane early. Additionally, there are two enemy champions bot. Your e can get about 5 to 6 stacks if they stand in it. This can be more worthwhile than getting a wave. Not the main source of stardust, but definitely a good one.

The biggest problema I find when facing asol is how infuriatingly tanky he is in combination with his slipperiness. Roa, RCS, Seraphs and some other items depending on the situation make him have around 3.5 to 4k health (+ like 800 shield from seraphs). All the while getting healing from roa which is deceptively strong, it's just not burst healing as most people are used to but it's not uncommon to find it healing upwards of 7k hp in a 25-30 minute game. He's basically impossible pick off unless he mispositions really badly for any assasin or burst mage, and even if he does fuck up he still has his w that is unstoppable if you don't have hard cc that he can use whenever he pleases to just piss off and spit his starshit at you. Can't speak for kassadin since I don't play him that much but even though Vlad does outscale him damage wise he can still never beat him in side lane because of his superior 1v1 and he makes vlads teamfights insanely difficult to play with his permanent slows, high damage, cc and executie. Vlad basically cannot kill Asol after first item unless Asol is really bad, doesn't help that all his items are FAR cheaper than Vlads. I find him to be a solid counterpick into Vlad if you know what Vlad does it's borderline impossible to die to him while keeping up in scaling really well or even outscaling into situations where both teams are quite tanky.

He'll get his mana pool attacked non-stoped by poke supports. it won't be "easier", it's just a lot more risky because it's even more matchup dependant (especially support match up dependant) than it is on midlane. And it will also be more impacted by how both junglers play the game. As a botlaner, it's basically a Kogmaw with slightly better escape but less trade potential. So it won't be "easier", it's just another different game, that is a lot more risky, but that can be more rewarding in some situation.

Yes Asol is good and he is near broken but u have so many chance and champs who can outscale him faster or just finish game without let him get 450+ stacks

@@Tomil4444 You know what's the issue? Kass has flash that deals 800 damage every 2,5 seconds. Vlad can be untargetable while doing over 1,5k damage of AoE around him. Literally. Legitimately. No. F*cking. Counterplay. They're both champions that once they get to X point, if you ain't got someone like Ryze to point and click that's it. But Sol, even when 4 items can still be killed during his W, no invulnerability, less tanky than Vlad despite building RoA, absolutely no DASHES, yet alone flashes. But but but but, it's a stat check champ that can fly over a wall, stat check one dude, get reset and then do the same thing again 4 more times. And low elos can't position for sh*t. I play in silver/gold elo all the time with my IRL friends and amount of times 40 min games are decided by who has the bigger mentally stunted player that gets caught for NO reason is insane. Drake soul spawning? Nah dude, someone needs to farm raptors on the other side of the map, lading to him recalling when it's 40 second pre drake and setting up no vision nor controlling the choke points for drake fight but they keep saying they were there on time. When on time for drakes is a minute ahead, not 5 seconds before it spawns. It's honestly disgusting. And that's why Sol is unfair to them, because they keep getting caught in dumb places with no reason to be there, combined with the fact that even silver Sol WILL stat check you moment he sees you. But you can't really explain this stuff to them, it's the same elo that is perma banning darius for 7 years despite him being OP for only period of 1,5 years. It's the same elo that makes Morgana have 25% ban rate while being sub 3% popularity moment you get above D4-D2. There's no reasoning with them, there's no logic, if they wanted to think, they wouldn't be in silver/gold in the first place. Edit: Also, people in lower elos don't know how to finish the game properly, so all games last approximately 7-10 minutes longer, which is huge for infinite scaling champions like Sol. There's a thing that Vlad and Kass actually lack compared to Sol, which is infinite scaling. Kass' power spike of 16 can be felt, but if he doesn't carry at 16, he won't be that much stronger at 18, while Sol doesn't have a cap. To everyone in any decent elo it's clear that if you didn't win a game that was effectively 5v4 first 15 min and you've let it go to 35, you deserve to lose, but not to low elo people. Second edit point: People in silver/gold FEAR towers. Play Sol in silver is chill experience if you know how to do wave management. If they pick Fizz or Yone that are insanely good into Sol, a smart player will also go Spellbook+Bone plating. Ever saw a silver Sol pick Spellbook? Of course not, they're playing damage champion, they only take damage runes. I main support with mid being secondary role and Sol was my go to ''wave clearing duty'' champ in my off role. And boy let me tell you, you get dove at least twice in first 14 minutes before plates fall above Diamond. Meanwhile level 4 shyvanas with double buffs don't even know they can solo drake on spawn and act like tower dives are death sentences. People in silver literally pick champs like Elise, Mao, Master or Evelynn and then proceed to not DIVE ONCE in whole game. It's honestly disgusting.

@@MrMrtvozornik u shot facts like machine gun xD but yes u are right and since all Players dont look of ur picks so when u play asol without tanks and have 2 adc on bot elise in jungle and some squishy on top u cant literally go in in tf bcs ur team lacks some frontline what is needed for sol. Random silence stop q recast w is 16/20 sec so if u fk up angle u are done. While vlad or kass with bad postion or bad teamfight? Kass use ult and vlad heal overtime with q and use this blood well to be untouchable xd
