Charles Barkley was simply an unstoppable force. He was truly awesome and fun to watch. Many say that Tim Duncan is the greatest Power Forward of all-time but in my opinion, Barkley and Karl Malone are up there with Duncan. Yes, Tim Duncan is a 5-time champion and deserves much praise for his accomplishments. But I remember how Chuck would post up and dominate much taller players on a regular basis and at probably 6'5"? That's just insane! If I'm correct, Charles is the shortest player ever to lead the NBA in rebounding (14.6) for a season back in 1987. Yeah, it's a shame that he didn't win a championship, but like you guys have said, teams win championships. It just wasn't meant to be. Regardless, it doesn't take away how great a player he was.
@kelviskk6 жыл бұрын
I can tell you that Rodman was a short player, and he was a better rebounding than Barkley. Barkley was more than that. He was great on atack, defense and teamplays. I like him a lot.

Being 6'4 or 6'5 the amazing thing to me is his stamina. Think about it and look and his rebounds, blocks and putbacks (basically better timed rebounds) but the point is at that height hes having to jump to his maximum almost everytime and he puts up those numbers its literally amazing to me.

An EXCELLENT review of one of the great players in NBA history. I clearly recall watching Barkley do his thing. He was a monster. I remember watching Barkley as a kid he was amazing especially for a PF that was only 6-4”. The way he played was none stop hustle and energy was great but what I loved the most before the 3-second rule was invented is how he would back any Pf up in the NBA no matter how big they were and either score on them or mostly they would double or even triple team him in the post and he was such a great passer he was sort of a point PF rebounding the ball dribbling it up and making plays. The defense was still good when he played for the 76ers but they never put a team around him and he had to do it all that's when he got tired of it and left for the suns.

Charles Barkley is a 6,5 250 power forward. They are built super similar and both have games that look similar to eachothers.

Aside from 3-pointers, Sir Charles could do everything on offense, starting with rebounding and scoring, but also blocks, steals, assists.

I don't think any body has ever doubted how historically good Charles Barkley was. If you did you're probably 15 and have been watching the NBA for 2 seasons or you don't know basketball for shit

FFS he was considered the second best player in the league for several seasons

Barkley is an absolute specimen of a human being. His athleticism is freakish especially given his height and the position he played and who he had to face. Unlike today the pfs of his era were big tall bodies, Oakley, kemp, Larry Johnson. Barkley is one of the best players to ever play and alot of people discount him because he dosnt have ths rings to show for it, not to mention he speaks his mind.

And 35 years later, we now have Zion Williamson... Charles Barkley is the only old school player that Zion’s game, physicality, height, size, and athletic ability mirrors. Zion Williamson is the 2019 version of Charles Barkley with a vertical leap probably close to 50 inch compared to Barkley’s probably close to 40 inch vertical leap. There is no other comparison in my book.
