I’m 52. Been gaming since 1978. It’s really easy for me to slam consoles and tout the greatness of PC gaming. But consoles have driven the market forward and given us some of the greatest gaming experiences of all time. @RanFranklin Жыл бұрын
You forgot to mention ROMs/Emulation on the PC. If you own the games on the other consoles like PS1/PS2/PS3 you have the right to make a "legal" backup of your games and you can play those on your PC as well. This also goes for NES, SNES, Segs, Atari, thousands of games that are available to Emulate. You guys probably don't/can't to mention emulation due to possible misuse by people but just wanted to throw this comment up for anyone who still comes across this video. The only reason to even have a console is for exclusive releases. I have a XBOX series X and a PS5 I haven't even touched them in two months though. PC offers versatility--not just gaming you can download/edit videos, photos, make content, stream. Also, for the younger group that use consoles the parents should invest more and get them a PC--on computers you can start learning things for work like using office, crm tools, typing skills, you can self learn how code the list just goes on and on and on.

I think it’s most important to realize that you are going to save a lot of money on the PC platform long term, than a console which will be more expensive long term, because of paid online and more expensive games plus the inability to upgrade if something goes wrong on the consoles. So spending more upfront on a PC isn’t necessarily a loss in price to performance. But that price can be whatever you want depending on the games you play. But I’d say that $800-1000 is more than enough to play games today at 1080p over 60fps.
@KINGOFDUBSOFFICIAL Жыл бұрын
No PC is more expensive upfront and in the long run. The thing is that consoles don’t really have problems like PC so you don’t have to worry about upgrading and you still can if you want with another console because a whole console is only the cost of one PC component. Also with subscriptions and disc drive for used games you get a lot of good deals on games on consoles and don’t really save on PC
@jimmychops Жыл бұрын
@@KINGOFDUBSOFFICIAL I can see how it might seem like a positive to not have upgrade paths on the consoles, but being locked into the same hardware for years on end is a problem. And if you are upgrading your PC for the new generation it’s most commonly going to be the CPU or GPU, which is not always going to cost you the price of a new console, especially if you sell your old part. Secondly when it comes to maintenance, the PC is much easier to repair because it’s fully modular, plus you don’t have to have a company tell you if they can or can’t fix it. And yes, you get good deals on consoles for games, but they exist on PC too and they are much more frequent.
@KINGOFDUBSOFFICIAL Жыл бұрын
@@jimmychops Well a PC is normally upgraded every 3-4 years and that’s when new consoles come out like the pro versions so you’re not really stuck. You can sell your old console as well and end up paying like only $150 on an upgrade. Most CPUs and gpus are at least the price of a console especially combined. Like a 4060ti is $400 and a PS5 digital is $400. When it comes to maintenance PCs have something go wrong more than consoles and you have to update drivers and more things more often on PC. You also have a lot of 3rd party apps running so it’s harder to troubleshoot on a PC when a PS5 you can just restart it or get it replaced with warranty or if you buy a new one it probably won’t be as expensive as replacing like a GPU I have both a PC and PS5 and can say that I’ve literally saved more money on console so far but I think they’re even in most cases unless you like a bunch of indie games and unpopular games
@jimmychops Жыл бұрын
The PC is not necessarily upgraded every 3-4 years, sure you might want to, but it’s definitely not required. Because you save money on games and no payed online on the PC, I’d recommend getting into PC gaming around the $900-1000 range, that way your system is future proof and will most certainly outperform the console. But you can totally tailor your PC around the games you play. A budget of $500 can get you a PC that can run almost every game today, AAA and Indie, above 60fps at 1080p. It is a huge misconception that PC gaming is as expensive as it is. I would argue that a console is a much more unnecessarily expensive platform to play on, because of the more expensive games payed online, and less options when it comes to repairs. Besides the games that are coming out today have system requirements that hardly require expensive hardware.

my PC is really old since I had it since I was in High School or middle school or something like that idk which but my PC has 6th gen Intel Core i7-6700 Processor, 16GB DDR4 System Memory, 128GB Solid State Drive and it had 2TB Hard Drive but it broke in July 23 2021 and changed it for 6TB Hard Drive, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 Graphics Card, and DVD Burner and it can run most games expt for one game Horizon Zero Dawn because I need new Graphics Card and it can play Overwatch 2.

The usage on that i5... uh... I really don't recommend people to buy quad core CPUs to play games. No matter what game it is.
@arthurlasido258 Жыл бұрын
i5 6500 is significantly cheaper and only draws 65 watts. With that being said, the price of i5 7th gen in the West might be not that much higher compared to 3rd world countries, due to better supply chain, distribution, and so on.

I've used console for 20 years and I just got my first pc a year ago I built it myself and I'll never go back to a console I love my pc lol
@ajac009 Жыл бұрын
Console is just plug and go. Console will last longer in the long run. PC you can build and add as you desire. But even starting in a year or so you will be spending more on upgrades while the console still gaming strong. Thats why I just do both lol
@Dregomz02 Жыл бұрын
That's a lie, PS5 pro will come within 2-3 years and you will upgrade. 2nd lie is about upgrading costing so much, I only upgraded my gpu for $124 and it already outperforms your crappy consoles. It's kinda funny how technically indepth you ppl are.
@ajac009 Жыл бұрын
@Dregomz02 you don't have to upgrade to the new ps5. Till ps6 your good. So no lies here. And you can only upgrade you going so much before your cpu is the bottleneck and gpu upgrade alone is about the cost of a console. You only spend 125 a crap upgrade now worth it. In the 10 years between console upgrade cycles you do that every 2 years is a game console

I found an xbox 360 slim next to a dump close to a yellow car (basically free) and im really hoping it works. One thing is that there are no controllers so yea :|

The only close competition of PC is definitely Mobile Gaming, its all about FREE to PLAY and LOTS of freebies, the amount of Discounted games and or exclusive Free games from Steam and Epic games is too much for console's has to offer😁

I built my PC for 400€ with Ryzen 5 2600, GTX 1070 8gb, 16gb ram, m.2 1tb. It can quite easily play 1080p with locked 60fps.

Console is better at the same price point because you get more performance and better integration. You can’t compare daily tasks PCs can do because that’s like comparing a smart tv to a PC and saying PC is better because you can do more than watch Netflix. That’s not even a fair comparison or shouldn’t be one at all for that matter
@kimsoderholm9101 Жыл бұрын
That cpu is a really bad match for the gtx 1660. Its a huge bottleneck in most games. The minimum cpu for a gtx 1660 super is probably an i5 8400 with 6 cores or a ryzen 1600. You could even get 30 percent higher performance with an old i7 4790k that performs like an i5 8400. The maximum gpu for an i5 7500 i would say is a gtx 1650 but it would bottleneck even that card in games that is cpu demanding.
@Dregomz02 Жыл бұрын
First ryzens were horrible with very weak single core perf they are def not worth it even if they appear powerful due core count. My old i7 7700k still works fine in 95% of games, but ofc it's not as good as new Ryzen 5600/7600 or Intel 12th or 13th gen. I should prob sell my CPU+Mobo and get R5 5600 for $0-80.

Here in europe you can’t build a proper pc for less than 800 euros parts cost a lot more here than the us.

PC gaming is smoother and allows for mods that consoles dont. Which is why I switched. But if your playing esports crap just buy a console or a prebuilt pc. Esports games , which are generally garbage to begin with. Will play on potatos. So if you want to play on the cheap, buy a console or a steam deck. Itll play whatever comes out without any tinkering. Where as this budget build will last like a year, maybe two if your lucky. And it wont be playing starfield thats for sure.

Let's be honest. Console is better for casuals or new gamers. And PC is better for comp players and good work flow. But overall the console has a better price to performance as opposed to a 350$ PC.

There’s plenty of sales on console, PS5 have sales like every week and with a disc drive, you have many storefronts to get used games from which is really cheap and comparing that to PC, PC is not cheaper when it comes to games most of the time and it will never be cheaper than a console not even in the long run. Also even tho PC has more games, they’re mainly small indie games that no one likes or even know exists lol
