Maresca is a genius, made one change at half time that change a lot in the game; Badiashile was a calamity in that right side CB in the first have but was great in the second half after moving back to his favorite left CB position, Gusto at RB, Cucu inverted and Caicedo in the CM just made Chelsea too hot for Spurs to handle.

George, a few points of disagreement with you: 1. Neto didn't have a good game offensively but there are some intangibles that you're missing. Neto's speed and direct runs forced Udogie to sit back home. We rarely saw him overlapping and providing those dangerous driving runs that give Heung Min Son all the space he gets. Just like Nico Jackson, it's not always about the flashy things. It takes all kinds to win the game. 2. Cucurella only had a stinker for the first slip (and even then, Sanchez should have stayed in goal). After the second slip, there was still enough time for the team to stop the attack. Sanchez got beat by a weak shot. Apart from those two slips, Cucu pocketed B Johnson, Porro, Werner AND Kulusevski. It was only when Cucu was subbed that Werner starting causing problems on that right wing against Veiga. 3. I LOVE Cole but apart from the two penalties, he didn't have a good game. He made some poor decisions in not releasing the ball for his teammates in better positions. Jadon Sancho was the star for me. He made all the right decisions on passing or shooting and was constantly dangerous. Definitely Hazard-esque. 4. Playing Caicedo as the inverting RB is awesome! It allows us to have all three great midfielders on the field and leverage Enzo, Lavia and Caicedo's strengths. I know it seemed like there were gaps for balls played into the space vacated but it kooked worse because Badiashile has no acceleration or awareness. Fofana would have done better.

Disagree about Levi thought it was his worse game of the season which for a young lad is okay, should have prevented both of the goals after cucurella errors. Maresca confirmed it was an injury not a tactical change for Lavia so wonder if the game had changed if we had stayed in the same shape

Being able to confidently play our seconds in these games is a great rest. Best case scenario Liverpool do go far in ucl and is forced to put more focus. I see a chance, definitely. I can’t say I’m not hopeful. But rn we need to appreciate liverpools brilliance and keep focusing game by game. Nothing worse than immense pressure on young players.
