Almost the entirety of Russian and Ukrainian FPV drones' critical components are made in China, and just at this moment, both combined assemble drones at a rate of 2M+ per year. Most of this R&D and manufacturing is done by volunteers. Can you imagine the sheer scale of Chinese effort if it gets invaded or even just goes to war overseas? Using an automobile analogy, China struggled with competing against well established international brands like Toyota, Volkswagen, and GM in internal combustion engine vehicles. So they went the route of electric vehicles and China currently leads the world. China is in the same situation when it comes to military. It is struggling to catch up with the Western countries in legacy military, like the nuclear powered submarine. However, when it comes to AI drones, whether in land ,air, or sea. China is at the starting block just like the US. And it is anyone’s guess on who will lead the world in AI military, 20 to 30 years from now.
