Good Mopar yarn Bret. I’m glad Chrysler made the effort to do the oil lines or we may never got the Legend 273 . Mopar for life 👍🏻🇦🇺✌️.

Yes true , I wonder if they made prototypes? Maybe every car was a prototype 😅😂

I’m sure that the AP5 had two different ways of mounting the steering box from memory. It’s bee25 years since I noticed the difference. I have seen one with a single round crush sleeve welded to the bottom of the rail and the two rear bolts through the rail. Would be good to see. Great video mate well done 👍🏻 Thanks for showing how Australia modified the little A bodies for the LHD viewers 👍🏻👍🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Brent, a RHD Unimog is even more weird because the steering box is still on the left hand side. You have a shaft coming up to a universal joint below the dashboard, a second shaft going horizontally under the dashboard to another universal joint and a third shaft going up to the steering wheel! That is why a RHD Unimog does not have self-centring steering. We got used to it fairly quickly, BUT … it gets better! The implement carrier Unimog is available with a steering wheel that can be slid from one side to the other. I do not know how they have set it up and I also suspect that many a Unimog mechanic would rather not know😁. Cheers from NZ🇳🇿.

Wow that’s crazy , do you personally own a unimog??? I’d love to have one someday ☺️☺️👌🏽👌🏽
@michaelguerin56Ай бұрын
@ No, I was a Territorial Force Royal New Zealand Engineer from 1984-96. I drove Unimogs that were paid for by the taxpayer. At least we had the proper tyres on our trucks, as opposed to your military who purchased undersized tyres to save a few pennies on rubber whilst over-revving their engines😁! The U1300L is nicer to drive than the U1700L because it does not have a turbo. The turbo on the U1700L always comes on at the wrong time when you are trying to carefully pick your way over rough ground. Not nice to be sitting in the back! The smaller model also has smaller tyres on the same size wheels which makes it much easier to climb in and out of the back. The 5.6L six cylinder diesel goes back to the days of the Mercedes Benz L series semi-conventional trucks which some people ran for decades. Have a good weekend.
