It's an odd thing I've had as well, when a genre feels like it is redefined somehow. Growing up I was really into a lot of Emo, back then it was things like Promise Ring, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jimmy Eat World and stuff. And it's not like I resent or dislike what the genre became, but it feels a bit like all that energy, all the gigs, the people, the sweat and tears, the dreams and a part of my youth got packed into a shoebox and became a footnote. I think maybe I just missed the homegrown community feel of when a genre is forging itself. I don't know if this is really relevant.. I like your videos though, getting little dives into niches is fun and I get to explore further based on bits my ears find interesting, thanks!
