The fact that this lady was able to part with 80 bags of clothing w/o having to see everything in each bag is so very different than the drama w 9 out of 10 Hoarders in the US that is the same in almost every episode w screaming and yelling at family members and cleaners/ organizers that are trying to help...along w a hand holding psychologist . The Brits seem to have more ability to cope w the help they are receiving ... I admire that. Love from Texas to Kim and Aggie.

Hoarding isn't quite the same as hitting a depression spell and not cleaning. Hoarders need serious psychological help dealing with what they've formed a genuine attachment to and the reasons behind it. This show is just love getting in the way to a stage where the folks feel stuck and can't go forward. Most keep on top of the housework after they get help to do it.

I've been suffering from depression and anxiety since covid started and stopped cleaning during first lockdown; nobody was going to see it so what did it matter. Then I had a couple of falls and a few ministrokes that severely limited my mobility. Having arthritis anyway it all just got worse and worse until I couldn't even think where to start. Crawling out of the black hole now and there are people who are willing to help if you ask. I think the lady here and others who went on this programme over the years are extraordinarily brave to have so many people in their homes, let alone the cameras and knowing it would be on TV for family, colleagues, neighbours and strangers to watch. I had one trusted person for three days. That's broken the back of the task and I can take my time to work on the rest. Wish me luck!

No she’s not saying you only wash your bedding twice a year she actually said the duvet not the cover and she said that because some people’s might be dry clean only but I wash mine every 3 months and changing my cover every week and even on most professional cleaning tip website they even say every 3 to 6 months or twice a year because as we already know every 6months is twice a year so she correct on her advice and the reason for the less washing of the duvet is because it’s protected by the cover in the first place

I clean my flat everyday. I am obsessed in bleach and just love coming home to my flat as it smells fresh with bleach. I never use too much bleach but use a lot mainly for the kitchen and the bathroom. I cant afford a hoover but i use a broom for sweeping the carpet to get rid of dust and dirt. My husband gets annoyed with me as i love cleaning the home everyday but my husband said he rather me clean it only once a week. he said he likes living in dirt and dust which seems crazy. He calls me obsessed and says i should get a cleaning job if i love cleaning so much. There is nothing wrong with living in a dust free clean home.

Bleach will kill surface mold, which is what that looked like. Her bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan, the window is in the tub/shower so more than likely she rarely if ever opened it, & that's probably why there was mold on & near the ceiling - no air circulation in the room. If the mold was from a leak, you'd see water marks, peeling paint, or even saggy plaster. The more dangerous types of mold arise from leaky roofs, window, &/or pipes. What she had looked more like the cause was condensation.

How do Kim and Aggie manage to talk people into parting with a hoard compared with all the wailing and tantrums that go on in US shows like Hoarders? Is it that the folks who call them in are ready to let go or is more going on in the background? Really hoping the woman whose home this is can keep things as they are now, or better, she acknowledged it was hard to let things go but went with the flow and really seemed to appreciate the results.

Irene, I was thinking the exact same thing! On "Hoarders" and "Hoarding : Buried Alive" they have Psychiatrists and god knows who trying to get many of the people to part wit their rubbish. Many times with little or no success. Maybe the people featured on this show aren't as messed up?

+Brandon, maybe people call them in for help and the folks in the US shows are being forced to do it else be turfed out of (or are already banished from) their homes or have their family walk out. I guess that would qualify as quite a different degree of messed upness. I feel for them all, there's obviously some irregular thinking involved to let things get hoarded in the first place.

People in the US have mental illness which causes them to hoard. My dad says it’s from the basement which draws bad element. Basement is bad feng shui given that it is underground which represents evil. However, Americans are fond of basements for some reason.🤷🏻‍♀️

I think in this show they aren’t there for most of the cleaning. I mean, they come in at the end and are surprised with the results while on Hoarders they are there doing the actual decluttering.

An event in many was can effect you. My husband came into money a few yrs ago and he left me sitting in my son's foreclosed house. He willed the place be bought and I made him change it. My son was left in a house in Fl and was moving to Norway with baby and wife. He was injured in the Marines. So they placed to move. It hit me hard. I always find the up side of things so I said well I can visit. She went alright and when he was ready to close up his house in DL and rent it she said he couldn't come for he wouldn't be welcome. Took hs 3 yr old and 40.000 in debt. and was preg!!!!!!!!! She's from there and daddy is caring for her and my gsons. I'm seeing a doctor. Every thing my son had 2 yrs in the Marines and all of his expen fishing eq and left him with no clothes!!! So I haven't been as eager to clean or anything.... I've gained 25 lbs and more meds,
