It seems like everyone forgets how difficult and resource-draining occupation is. The Germans ended up having to have at least one occupier for every 10 Norwegian citizens. The quality of the occupation soldiers in France was very poor by D-Day, further ensuring an inevitable Allied victory.
@magnusfiskvik5093 ай бұрын
Good point and stretched out it was easier to sabotage as well which also contributed to D-day success delaying panzer divisons to arrive in time from the south of France. Peak it was actually 1 for every 6 in Norway (from the book "Wehrmacht in Norway" - recommended book btw) The main target for Germany in Norway was not Narvik, but Trondheim. They planned a naval base there with room for some 300.000 germans and they even had plans to move the city centre. It's a bit surprising that that fact is so overlooked in documentaries about Norway and WWII. In comparasism there were 'only' some 200.000 Germans who fought alongisde the Finns.

Except Germany didn’t need to occupy Norway w/ so many divisions. That occupation was a case of racial ideology taking precedent over sound military strategy. If Germany had delayed their invasion of the SU then they’d have had more time for the French to acclimate to life under Naz governance. Allowing em to maintain their culture and government for the most part for a few yrs woulda helped alleviate the need for unreliable slave labor to sustain armaments production. Instead the Nazis ruled over regions that didn’t increase their resource production or help w/ their war effort in any significant way

Hard to say. Still argued today who was right between Hitler and his generals. The generals regarded it as a traditional war and saw taking Moscow as the goal that proclaimed them victory. That’s also how Stalin felt as well. Considering Moscow falling to Germany as the SU being conquered. Hitler felt that the entire reason to invade the SU was for the resources and oil in the caucuses which would disrupt their ability to wage war and starve the SU into submission. The indecisiveness in the end likely led to their failure. Either push fully for Moscow or target the oil resources and refrain from creating a front line thousands of miles long lol. Having a front line equivalent to the distance of Oregon to Texas was always gonna cause supply and logistical issues. Even a modern day army wouldn’t likely be able to sustain such a long front line for the yrs Germany was able to

Hitler defeated himself. If he would have not went for Stalingrad and focused first on England, ESPECIALLY after having nearly the entire British army captured at Dunkirk, it would have been very different. However, conquering a country is one thing. Keeping it is another. Either way once the United States came over it would be all over for the Nazis anyway.

Close? They literally conquered and allied/puppeted the entirety of Mainland Europe. Even after failing to capture Moscow in '41 The Germans basically owned all of 'European Russia'. Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Portugal were the only non aligned countries on the mainland, and even still they all happily co-existed and traded with the Nazi's. Also the defeat at Stalingrad is without a doubt the major turning point. Hitler knew himself that the failure of the offensive would result in Germany's loss of the war. Only reason he kept fighting after the offensive failed was because he and nearly all the top ranking Germans knew what was waiting for them if they surrendered. So they desperately clung to power knowing that their lives were basically already over.

In a war of attrition you are obviously correct. Germany wouldn’t even have lasted in a war of attrition against just a couple of their earliest foes. But that was never Germany’s strategy, they were forced into that type of war after Stalingrad, and to a degree against the British after Dunkirk. The blitzkrieg couldn’t continue in those situations, but that was still their primary strategy, trying to completely avoid a war of attrition.

But National Socialism is. It’s basically strong nationalism, typically rooted in preserving or advancing a particular demographic at the expense of others. There are plenty of socialist aspects, just in support of advancing your government and national identity rather than people in general.

He was? What do you think this war was all about? Because Germany was “evil” and AH wanted to “rule the world”? Who do you think drags the people into wars that they never want to be a part of? The Bankers. “Yes, only a small clique of profiteers are the only party with a viable political and materialistic interest in this war. These criminals have rejected the German willingness for peace because it is contrary to their capitalist-materialistic interests. Who in such a satanic undertaking, dares use the name of God and commits blasphemy against God. According to our profound conviction, his reward can only be destruction (Timothy 6:9/Mathew 6:24). Beyond this, we not only fight for our own existence, but to free this world of a conspiracy which knows no scruples in subordinating the happiness of nations and man to its base egotism. We have fought these criminals here within our nation. We know how to deal with them abroad, too. The steps taken in 1939 serves the defense of the Reich. Everything could have turned out quite differently had the outside world just shown an ounce of understanding of the German vital concerns (Danzig/Sudetenland). Often it is said that we should have waited for a negotiated settlement. Remember, my volk, did I not repeatedly place the colonial question, for instance, before the world to obtain a negotiated settlement!? Did we ever receive a response? No! Other than brusque replies and ever new hateful reactions! The moment Germany began to re-emerge, the leading classes of England and France began were determined to take up the battle once again! For 300 years England has sought to prevent a real consolidation of Europe. Just as France sought to prevent a consolidation of Germany for a century.

Extremely close. They were for sure going to take Moscow at one point during Operation Barbarossa and if they did Russia had a good chance of being yet another casualty to Nazi aggression but then Hitler suddenly started getting the irresistible urge to micromanage and overrule his generals in the field then they ran out of time and had to dig in and wait until next year by which point the Red Army got on a much more firm footing to defend the country.

Always been curious the role of Japan in the Axis Powers. Italy and Germany fought side by side in the same countries and continents. Japan was on a totally separate path starting a totally separate war not helping the other axis or being helped. More like a non aggression pact. Nobody was in a better position to help the Germans in Russia being in a position to open up a totally different front but instead they made it clear they had no intent of doing so. This allowed Stalins highly trained Siberian forces to help repel German advance. They also allows US merchant ships even when we were at war with Japan to pass untouched as to not upset Soviets. Doesn’t sound like an alliance to me. The only thing Japan did for Germany was speed up the U.S. full commitment to both wars. I’m glad they left Russia be it may have taken them longer to regroup or possibly lose Moscow and the Soviets did the heavily lifting against Germany losing countless millions in a struggle of survival. Instead of an alliance Japan pulled the same mistake as Germany taking on a world superpower who also had geography on its side. Even if Japan had won battles they’d lost there was no defeating our pacific fleet we would were building a new carrier every month something Japan wasn’t close to matching. Eventually with the production advantage, addition to radar on all ships, and larger and growing amount of sailors and ground troops the battle would always end up on Japans mainland just a question of when and how many had to die. Wish we hadn’t dropped atomic bombs we were running unchecked with conventional bombs doing similar structural damage just with more bombs. Other ways of showing the Soviets the technological power we now possessed

The United States has not and cannot formally declare a legal state of war since World War Two. That is because the United States is still legally in a state of war with the Third Reich in exile. The very last time the United States declared a state of war was in World War Two, first declared war against the empire of Japan on the 8, December 1941, the day after pearl harbour. Then against Germany and Italy on the 11, December 1941. Then on the 5, June 1942, the United States declared war against Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary, which comprised and formalized the Axis of Nations. Since that period of time the United States has never declared war, the United States has never declared a state of war since World War Two. It’s impossible for the United States to officially declare, a legal declaration of war on anyone because it is still in a state of war against the Third Reich or the National Socialist German workers party, who were the legal democratic government of Germany from 1933-1945. This is the reason why the United States has never declared war again, because they cannot declare a state of war within a state of war. That’s why no declaration of war was declared against the Soviet Union, why no declaration of war was declared in Vietnam. No declaration of war was formally declared in the Gulf conflicts, no war was declared in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Korea, in Cuba, in Panama, in Nicaragua or anywhere, the United States has never declared a state of war with anyone since World War Two, because its still legally in World War Two. The factors to take into consideration is firstly, the United States is forbidden to ever declare a state of war ever again, as long as it exists as a constitutional republic. That’s the first fact. The second fact is unlimited states of emergency since World War Two. For example Daylight Savings Time formally known as War Time. Daylight Savings Time or War Time, didn’t exist prior to World War Two. It was first introduced in the year 1918-1919, by President Woodrow Wilson. It lasted for a year and by popular demand the nation voted against Daylight Savings Time, for its inconvenience of switching time zones and doing this manually using analogue. War Time or Daylight Savings Time was reintroduced in World War Two which allowed the United States extra daylight in the day for war production purposes for mass mobilization. Well when this Daylight Savings Time it was only to last for the amount of time the United States was in a legal state of war. No more than 6 months after declaration of peace against belligerency of a nation state. Well until this day, the United States, Britain, France and all the English speaking commonwealth nations are all still of War Time. All the Allies of World War Two are still on Daylight Savings Time. Daylight Savings Time still exists.The other factors to note is a government federal reserve phone tax on every monthly bill for telephonic calls. There was no war time excise taxes imposed prior to World War Two. Again like Daylight Savings Time, a war tax only is introduced during declaration of war.The United States taxed the population a war time phone tax during the Spanish-American war and in World War One. These were redacted 6 months after signing and declaration of peace. Until this very day everyone who lives in the United States, Britain, France and the English speaking commonwealth of nations are all still paying a war time excise war tax on every phone bill on a monthly basis, every single year. The war tax has never been redacted, and we continue to support the war effort by continuing to pay our phone bills on a monthly basis, which we get taxed for being in World War Two still. Indicating we are still legally in a state of war. Every phone bill has a set of regulated taxes on their, which are government taxes which we are being charged every month to pay for the war effort, which is still on going and continuing. The war with the Third Reich government in still ongoing and continuing to this very day, which is why in the United States, Britain, France and various nations in Europe who are part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and the recognized 193 member states of the United Nations are all subject and exposed to Anti--National Socialist propaganda. The purpose of this is to promote an antithetical and violent response to the legally declared enemy. The Third Reich in Exile are still the legitimate enemy of all the Allies of World War Two. That’s why there is so much Anti-National Socialist propaganda pumped at you, through your education, through media, through social platforms, through film, movie and literature. All this effort is designed to make you hate the legitimate enemy in which are the National Socialists German Workers Party. Colloquially known universally as the ‘Nazi’s’. The term ‘Nazi’ is a propaganda acronym, created during time of war to derogate the National Socialist German Workers Party. The term ‘Nazi’ is a meaningless term only used in time of war, and everyone calls the National Socialist Party, ‘Nazi’s’ because we are still in a state of war with the National Socialists. This is why everyone is indoctrinated to hate the National Socialists, which is a personification of pathology. You have to ask yourself; “Why on earth!? Are we still being pumped Anti-National Socialist propaganda, which supposedly ended after peace in May of 1945?”The reason being is because we are all still legally in a state of war with the Third Reich in Exile. Just as Japan and Russia are still legally in a state of war. Just as the National Republic of China and the People’s Republic of China who are run by the Chinese communist party are still legally in a state of war. All these nations are still in a legal state of war, just as the Alliances such as the United States, Britain and France are all still legally in a state of war. It’s very important to make aware of the fact that the signing of the cease fire in Europe by Alfred Jodl in Reims France on the 7 May, 1945 was not a settlement of a peace treaty, this is a surrender of the forces in the field of belligerence of the combatants. This was not a formalization or settlement of a peace agreement or ‘Unconditional Surrender’. The most important thing to note and to recognized is the fact, that the National Socialist German Workers Party, who were the legitimate government of Germany of the Fatherland, never, ever surrendered. The Wehrmacht of the Germany arm forces surrendered the forces in the field, but the government never, ever surrendered. The government relocated into exile, just as the Nationalist Republic of China relocated its government into exile onto the island of Taiwan, which was formerly known as Formosa, which belonged to the empire of Japan for fifty years from 1895-1945. The Japanese government gave the Nationalist Chinese government under Chiang Kai-Shek, the island of Formosa for allowing the Japanese forces territory and occupation whilst the Chinese Civil War was raging on the mainland of China. The Nationalist Chinese government felt betrayed by the United states government for supporting the Chinese communist party. So the Nationalist Chinese government switched sides to the Axis. Just as Italy realigned themselves with the Allies. To this day the Nationalist Republic of China is not recognized by the United Nations. The United Nations was created originally to combat and fight the Axis as an organization of war, stated in article 42, in its United Nations charter. The United Nations still exists today as a organization of war or to conduct peace keeping operations to combat and fight the Axis nations today. Because the Allied nations are still legally in a state of war against the Third Reich government in exile that is not recognized by the United Nations, just like Taiwan is not recognized as even existing, because its part of the Axis alignment. The Nationalist Chinese government is not recognized, just as the National Socialists government of the Third Reich are not recognized and not acknowledged as even existing. That’s why no one is aware of this fact. But the bottom line and reality is the Allies are still legally at war with the Third Reich government to this day.
