As a Chinese who used to be an amateur stand-up comedian in China, I gotta say she is doing a great job. I see some comments say there is no comedian in China, I can't really agree with it. I do see a lot of comedians joke about China including expats. But it's quite risky joking about certain things, such as Chinese identity, Chinese culture in general, Hong Kong and Taiwan Independence, which are taboos. People can get very sensitive and even irritated.

She’s hilarious, and I think she gives Chinese a good rep actually. Her jokes might be stereotypical but she herself is not which is great. but a lot of Chinese people has what’s known as “Glass Heart”, very easily shattered, and has labels around it that says fragile, and generally can’t take a joke.

“Make fun of ourself” that's the vital different in mantality. In US or EU countries make fun of yourself is an icebreaking or a sense of humor, however in China this means humiliting or betraying. The same reason why there is no comedian in China.

I have had close to 100 Chinese students stay with me over the years, and I loved them all, and I can also say that these 'stereotypes' that are being criticized are quite accurate. Why do cultural differences have to be labelled racist. Its so funny because its true. But also, I thought this was a very entertaining way of educating Westerners. I thought this was brilliant. I tried to find He in the semi-finals here on youtube, but I cant see anything.

I'm Asian but also in a middle position since I am considered a Tsinoy or Chinese-Filipino which is a difficult position. In Miss Huang's comedy act I thought it was funny and ok. I don't know about Chinese social media, but it's interesting BBC is highlighting how some Chinese people react negatively to her, since many Chinese probably like her too. Like some English people like Mr bean or monty python and other English don't. Seems like BBC is being tendentious... Especially since most of the laughs she got was the uncomfortable kind, cause she was making fun of the racism and prejudice she encountered as a Chinese person in Australia, an anglosaxon country, but in a subtle and non confrontational manner.

I am intrigued by the fact that the BBC is showing a little known B-grade comedian in Australia, yet the BBC didn't feature the 3 day visit by Chinese president to Saudi Arabia.
