Concentration is how much dissolved solute there is in a given volume of a solvent. The more particles there are, the higher the concentration. As the number of particles increases, the frequency of collisions increases. This increases the chance of successful collision, therefore increasing the rate of reaction. The rate of reaction always slows down as the reaction progresses. This is due to the reacting particles getting used up, decreasing the frequency of collisions, decreasing the chance of successful collisions as the reaction continues.
