Concentration is how much dissolved solute there is in a given volume of a solvent. The more particles there are, the higher the concentration. As the number of particles increases, the frequency of collisions increases. This increases the chance of successful collision, therefore increasing the rate of reaction. The rate of reaction always slows down as the reaction progresses. This is due to the reacting particles getting used up, decreasing the frequency of collisions, decreasing the chance of successful collisions as the reaction continues.

Does the coefficient of the reactants affect the rate of the reaction?

Is it correct it should give higher volume of gas as the particles increases by increasing the conc ?

Hello, not a higher volume of gas, but the reaction will finish in a shorter time, increasing the rate of reaction. A higher concentration means more particles, so more frequent collisions increasing the chance of successful collisions.

@@KayScience I thought if im doubling the concetration of an acide the volume of gas produced will be doubled.
