Arber is a mainstay on the Habs defense. He forces the other team to behave themselves and not take liberties with the Habs smaller players . You need his presence to keep the apponents honest. Sign him long term and watch him develop into a beast d-man .His shot is also a weapon that is underutilized . The second P.P. should include Arber .!!!

We don’t talk enough about Kovacevic who has the best +/-.

He was reliable, but prob gone. Blame Slaf's $250K bonus. jk Extensions to Gallagher, Mr. Anderson, Price, etc., via Bergevin. Bergy brought us playoffs we had no biz in, & he also had the balls to draft Mailloux. He didn't follow his own advice, but had one of the best quotes in history: "If you want loyalty, buy a dog" - Marc Bergevin on whether he expected loyalty from Radulov after taking a chance on him last year."

@@PositronMcHappy So... you used my comment to dump a bunch of ramblings that have barely anything to do with what I'm saying? Why didn't you create your own post? All I'm saying is that Kovacevic deserve a little bit more attention by the press than he does. I'm simply trying to be positive here by highlighting his good work. Please be negative somewhere else.

Like Chris, I've always liked Armia and happy for his comeback. If he keeps playing like this next year, he'd be great trade bait. On the other hand, I wonder what are the chances he'd be resigned at a lower cap hit...

Let's hope for an 8 year contract for him as well. He deserves it. My absolute favorite NHL player. I can't lie

no, that would be crazy. 8 year contracts are for stars. a 3 to 4 year contract at 3m$ a season is more appropriate.

A bunch of very talented young players and the perfect coach to bring them along and teach them the right way to play and win this league. Marty is the straw that stirs the drink (no alcohol half the team is under aged)

Arber stays, even if he can't fight as well. He has natural talent and has developed an NHL skillset. How many players have put a puck through the net with a wrist shot, none I can recall in over 50 years watching.

When I was a young athlete I had major issues with my knees. It wasn’t caused by injury it was a conformation issue, just the way I was built my kneecaps would dislocate. Finally I had surgery and it was like I had brand new knees and they never gave me problems again. I would be more worried about Arber if it was the same shoulder. Could just be a corrective surgery.

Lock him in for eight more years!!!! Upgraded shoulders will help him in the years ahead! Chis said it best when he spoke about being in the lineup going into Boston... Montreal played bigger when he was in the lineup and they're doing again with Arber in the lineup.

Not sure I'd trade Armia. Realistically, what rational GM would offer us anything even close to what he's worth? Remember, he's had concussion issues and he's disappeared for long stretches of time. If Hughes is a betting man then this is one worth taking. Renew his contract at the current hit and tell him he's staying put, he's part of the gang. If this finally delivers the real Armia, then we will collect in spades on this bet. At the very least, we will have a great penalty killer at an affordable hit.

There is something wrong with NHL hockey when enforcers like Xhekaj are still needed in 2024 to police the ice behaviors of other players. You don't have that in most other professional sports !!!

Hockey has always been one of the most physical games and players sometimes get pissed. That's when you need players who can respond to the bullies. Also, it's a fact of life in the NHL playoffs that some teams intentionally try to injure good players on the opposing teams. In pro sports you have to earn a living to support your family, and tough, physical play, is the solution for a lot of players. If you remove fighting from the game, it will be an open season on the more talented and softer players! What's wrong with the NHL is there are too many faint hearted observers like you that just don't get it. If hockey is too violent for you then stick to touch football.
