I am from Chennai, i still can't understand why Atlee copying from other movies is taken so seriously as if it's a crime💀 because i loved Mersal and theri, even Raja Rani.... It had lot of inspirations from different movies, we know that commercial cinema in general is a mix of movies born through following particular style or templates!! Personally, I don't like his films apart from Raja Rani and Theri because it feels soulless for me. It's like Atlee sees what hypes the audience and throw them into a generic screenplay and calls it a day. Everything seems calculated, so corporate and some even feels forced, like bigil and that singampenne song feels like just a wave catching attempt at the feminism movement happening in Tamil cinema with great movies like Kanna and Neerkonda Parvai being hits. The way I and my friends enjoyed watching Jawan in theatre, we didn't the enjoyment while watching Dunki. That's why we watched Jawan multiple times in theatres just to have that theatre experience, and each time we got satisfied, but we've watched Dunki just once, and didnt feel the urge to watch it again. What shit logic is this? Raj Kumar hirani prefers story line movie based on drama not action masala movie which are easier to make money. His intention is never to make movie to make 1000cr. Pathan😂 that was a shit movie which earn 1000cr due to srk comeback. Jawan was better than pathan but definitely not worth 1000cr but it was mix of Bollywood and South so earn so much. Raj Kumar Hirani doesn't make those same loud bgm with physics killing actions with average storyline movies like South Cenema. One of the worst comparision I have ever seen.

Jawan is the best commercial movie to have ever been made in bollywood it had everything for everyone - a perfect mass+class movie dunki wasnt as good as people expected rajkumar hirani to do something extraordinary of level of 3 idiots which is a tough ask anyways dunki isnt a bad movie in anyway - the clash factor - the genre factor - and the movie not being upto the mark in terms of expectations has made it to underperform you urself told dunki is a masterpiece - so ? i still feel dunki > jawan > pathaan (though cant compare b/w dift genres)

I do believe Dunki was a misfire from Hirani, but you also need to consider the genre of film. Dunki was never going to get close to 1000cr. Action movies are selling more today. And the clash probably took away 70-80cr more. So its not a fair comparison. I thought Dunki would do better than Jawan overseas but it didn’t as the content was not universally appreciated

Jawan is a very well made movie. Period. Simply putting it down as mass masala is unfair. if success was that easy every producer will be doing it. Atlee put a lot of effort on this. I was irritated mildly on resemblances of Rajini style is many scenes in jawan. Still its a very well packaged movie. Hats off to Atlee. He has created Atlee template. SRK is not stupid to seek atlee. SRK clearly researched and asked specifically for ATLEE Style movie.
