as an American, I submit that our relationship with SK transcends partisan politics. Was martial law a mistake? I don't know, I'm not SK

Other than a few dozens, all S Koreans are anti- martial law, these are including army and police personnel.

President Trump may like to work with a new S Korea president, so I don't worry about the relationship between South Korea and USA. I just a little worry about the relationship between South Korea and Japan.

Most Americans have good feelings towards SK. Americans spilled blood on Korean soil to drive North Korea out of SK and admired South Koreans fighting against dictstorship to establish their democracy. I was shocked that Yoon attempted a military coup which was illegal without the support of the National Assembly. But I was also very dismayed that his own party would not support impeachment when what Yoon did was attempt to destroy democracy in SK caring more about party loyalty than the welfare of the country. THAT disappoints me more than the attempt at a military coup. My admiration for the South Koreans has increased tremendously because of the way they protest: peacefully. In America we burn down businesses and neighborhoods, breaking into stores, killings, beatings......... but Yoon refuses to accept responsibility still proclaiming how righteous he is. Are 'peaceful protests" working? I have fallen in love with imperfect South Korea through their mighty "soft power" of Kpop, K-drama and K-beauty. It caused me to study the history of SK, customs and culture. We Americans stand with the South Korean people and democracy ❤🎉
