How Could This One Uber Eats Shopping Order Get Any Worse?

Out of stock issues are not any one apps fault. It is the retailers issues for not having updated stock levels. UE or DD or shipt or whatever only allows the order if the store shows it currently in stock, however you must remember you are shopping in a live environment so another customer could have gotten it, they could be in back stock, theft is always an issue, item could be damaged and removed from sales floor there are so many variables.... so again I put in on the retailers not the apps.

I'm top dasher currently and no I still get offered a lot of $2-3 orders coming thru.. of course they do get declined .. today I had a shop and pay 9 items for $3.75 people be crazy

I've decided that acceptance rates do not have any influence over which orders drivers are offered. It's driver location and whether the driver is doing flat hourly rate or not.

I’m in Australia, using uber eats as a consumer the items are generally 33% more expensive, we pay a delivery fee, service fee and I also pay a membership fee. Tipping is not in the Australia culture. I do tip but after I receive my order not before.

In countries outside of the US, Doordash and Uber pay drivers much higher base rates because tipping is not a normal practice and not expected.

When u do a google news search of Uber, DD, IC, etc, there's always lots of interesting & crazy stories. IC & Uber just teamed up, IC added Home Depot. Lots of drivers getting attacked, killed, robbed, etc & vice versa. An IC driver shot & killed Angie Harmon's dog who is now suing. Crazy crazy stuff going on in the gig world...stay safe

I had uber ad on for as low as 1.50 they lower the base pay on ad ons.. They seam to send them when your trying to navigate.

Stacking orders is the only way most of the no tip orders get delivered. They pair a no tip order with a decent tipped order in the same direction.

You are 💯 correct. The delivery apps are charging customers a service and delivery fee and not passing this onto the drivers. In Australia, we don’t make a lot of tips so they have to pay us more or the orders won’t get delivered. I made $144 in 4 hours tonight on a Monday night (includes $13 tips). The apps are abusing your tipping culture and ripping you guys off. Some drivers in the US are making $25-$30+ hour and others are barely making $20./hr Depends where you live

If you cancel, doesn't DD or UE just reassign the order to another driver? It seems like it'd be best to call the customer, explain it's out of stock and tell them to cancel and reorder from another store.

this whole month of may its been 75% of woolworths orders on doordash deliverys in australia. so sick of woolworths orders but no one else takes them and the amounts are high and the customers are within 1-2 km away

This is why I will not do shop and pay orders for over 5 items. Even that can turn it to a cluster. There is no black berry iced tea. Holy crap doesn't exist

In 1 out of every 4-5 food orders, my customers increase their previously tipped amount, but the only time anyone has ever reduced the tip was a shop and pay. The customer reduced the tip by 45 cents because the store was out of the variety box of tea bags they ordered and refused the suggested replacement. I guess he didn't realize it's more work for drivers if the store is out of stock of an item! I should have added that I am fairly certain the reduction was due to the out of stock item because his tipped amount equaled 45 cents per item.

I won't get ink cartridges for my canon all in one printer up here in Ontario Canada because they are 3x more than the ones I can get on Amazon. While the Amazon ones may not be name brand, they work just as well. I do shop at Staples for paper and when I want to make a spiral bound book. Since I can't get on Doordash in my area and only do Uber, we don't get as many shops to go to as you seem to. We were excited because we just got Costco added to the list although I still do not know if it will be shopping or just pick up since some people like me do not own a Costco card.
