I usually do it by the season. Off-season, Spring Break, Shoulder Season (May/June), Summer, Halloween, Christmas. So every two months. But I could consider making it monthly. I'll make a poll tomorrow and ask what everyone thinks.

We were there with all the other Texas spring breakers on Friday. Really didn't get crazy busy until about 11. Watched quite a few of your videos Thursday night- thanks for the tips! My wife was impressed with how we got around despite being there last in 2019. Highlights for me were the green stuff and the cold brew from galaxys edge- i don't even drink cream or sugar in my coffee but I'll be dreaming about that stuff for the next year.

Went to DCA on the 16th and followed your advice of cycling through as many Lightning Lanes possible by by refreshing the availability screen. Worked like an absolute charm! Waited at most 25 minutes for all E-tickets on a day where everything was more than 55 minutes and Radiator Springs Racers was at a 100 minute wait all throughout the day. All I had to do was refresh for 5 minutes to find an immediate Lightning Lane!

It honestly took only a couple minutes of constant refreshing to find an immediate Lightning Lane, which also really drains your battery. It was definitely worth it as I rode GOTG, Incredicoaster, Soarin’ Over California, and the swinging ferris wheel in about 2 hours with a group of 5. Definitely bring a battery pack and be ready to select that Lightning Lane as soon as it pops up! Many people don’t realize that lots of people are changing or cancelling their Lightning Lanes. Have fun!

Yes, a walk through crowd video for DCA would be great 😊. I love seeing what crowds look like vs wait times in app. I subscribe to Touring Plans which gives historical data, and it said yesterday’s “actual” crowd levels were a 5/10 for DL and 8/10 for DCA. Looks like you were spot on! 😄

I should be there May 6th, but it'll only be me. That means I'll probably mostly be at Disneyland from 8 AM to 11 AM with a strong possibility of hopping to DCA from 11 AM to 12:30 PM, after which I'll be going home. When I go solo, I'm almost always filming in the general public areas and never riding rides, so keep an eye out for me walking around with my phone out recording. Feel free to say hi if you see me!

Best thing about your videos other than the content is your slower (normal to me) and lower voice...other You Tubes can be very overwhelming due to their super fast pace.

We are going in April around the 15-17th because it was the cheapest for the days. My youngest first time, hoping the crowds will be more tame and we can get most of what we want done. Thanks for all the awesome videos and info.

It being the cheapest is a good sign. It means Disney believes the crowds will be gone and so they lower the price to entice more people to visit. Tiered pricing, unfortunately, means the park isn’t as empty all year as it used to be. BUT it does mean the crazy Spring Break crowds should be gone.

Thank you that is a relief. We are trying to get the most out of it for my 4 and 7 year old. We are doing Disneyland the first day Monday the 15th and DCA Tuesday the 16th where my youngest is so excited for carsland and the Disneyland again Wednesday on the 17th. They close earlier and we avoided the early entry day at each park but hoping for the best.

Grab a virtual queue at Noon. Set an alarm for 11:58 so you don’t forget. And then show up at least an hour before hand to get a decent viewing spot. Sometimes even earlier for the best spots without anyone in front of you, if that’s important to you. You could also consider a dining package, but I’ve heard some folks say the angle isn’t the best. Buy at least you have a reserved spot.

There’s not really a different strategy for Spring Break in the AM. I’d still recommend either going to Fantasyland first or Space Mountain depending on whether you have Genie+ or not. Or whether you want to ride thrill rides all day or try to ride everything at least once.

I went to Disneyland on March 9th and DCA on March 10th and it felt VERY packed, more packed at DCA than at Disneyland to be honest. I think the $50 kids ticket offer is probably what made it so packed, especially the fact that it was the last weekend to use the tickets. I noticed that the weekend of the 16/17 wait times were shorter than when I went, but DCA in general is packed due to the food & wine festival. I feel like the festival was better last year vs. this year, but honestly I don't think I'll go during the food & wine festival again just due to how packed it was.

That's insane.... I was in the park the day before (3/16) and it was PACKED. It was so crowded... the parking structures were so full the people were driving around for 60-90 minutes just to find a parking spot. People were super cranky, even cast members were mean. I've never seen that.

We always drive up to get there at 7:30 AM at the parking garage. So that’s leaving our house (El Cajon) at 6 AM. And to come home, we leave the park no earlier than 6 PM or we’ll hit traffic going home. For the AM, if you aren’t going to show up for rope drop, I wouldn’t leave until 9 AM to miss most of the rush hour traffic. But being in Carlsbad, you’re already halfway there (to us), so it might not be too bad to deal with traffic. Use the HOV from San Clemente to Anaheim and you’ll be fine for the most part.

Depends on your goal. Ride everything once? Go to Fantasyland first. Or would you rather double up on the biggest/best rides? Standby your top favorites during the “Golden Hour” (8 AM to 9 AM) and then ride them again with Genie+ later.

If you double up, can you still ride the dark rides? Absolutely. But you’ll be hard pressed to squeeze them all in without making sacrifices somewhere.

Do you already have a festival food line video? Went to DCA on a Sunday during Lunar New Year, and I was so disappointed about the lines for festival food. Thankfully, we took your mobile food order advice otherwise.

The lines were insane yesterday for festival booths. General advice is to find the shortest line (the one by Grizzly is tucked away and forgotten a lot of the time) and then order ALL your food for all the booths upfront. Even so, the pick up lines were really long to, and you can’t avoid those. Thank you. Timely video for me with big trip scheduled from March 30 to April 4 which is only time my school librarian daughter was available. I’m hoping that it’s not any more crowded with people and strollers than I saw on video during end of $50 kids offer! Looking forward to that genie challenge at California adventure. Given how often Luigi’s and radiator springs are down I’m probably weirdly considering doing Luigi first then single rider for radiator springs on our only DCA morning (early morning at Disneyland day) if both those rides are up. We barely squeaked out Luigi’s at the end of the day because of how often it was closed. We rope dropped RSR, but it’s not necessarily the best move. We still like to go to Pixar Pier in the AM.

My daughter and I really have a fairly limited amount of stuff we’re both interested in and incredicoaster, goofy’s sky school and soarin aren’t even on our list. Luigi’s looks like fun and we’re hoping it won’t cause motion sickness because of similarity to that scene in runaway railway that doesn’t bother us.. you recommended looking at app for a week before trip but I’ve been looking at if for months. Weirdly enough I came to the conclusion that if it’s open, Luigi’s may be our best rope drop choice. We hope to do radiator’s springs with an individual lightning lane on our arrival evening so the single rider on our rope drop morning will hopefully be our second visit. I’m thoroughly enjoying your videos and help and at 76 I need all the help I can get lol. Thanks again.

LAUSD spring break is last week of March. Spring break for LA County South Bay schools is the first or second week of April, so “spring break” in the So Cal area is a thing for a while.

If you actually read the Peter Pan wait time sign....it says 30 minutes FROM THIS POINT. So if the line goes longer than "that point", the wait time will be longer than 30 minutes. Many of those types of signs say that.

That’s not actually what they mean though. Or the wait time on them would never change because it’s always from that point. The number on the sign usually matches the app. I’ve seen that wait time sign say 60 minutes. That wording is from the old era of wait times and they just haven’t ever updated the signs.

Hey everyone I had a question.. so I’m planning to go in June and I have two kids under 3. If I buy individual lightning lanes or genie plus do my kids get to come too? Just didn’t know the rules or policies to that

The two individual lightning lane rides have height requirements that I doubt a 2 year old would be tall enough for unless they are on the cusp of turning 3 and very tall for their age. Possible? Yes. And in that case, the answer is yes. Without a ticket, they don’t require a purchase and can ride. But be prepared to have to explain it on every ride. Because cast members will be skeptical they don’t have a ticket. The front gate CMs can’t argue with you unless it’s obvious. They have to take your word for it. But the lightning lane CMs will think you’re trying to squeeze on an extra person and will ask you to scan their ticket. Which will prompt you have to explain it every time. Now, if they are clearly below 3, like infant or baby, then that won’t be a problem, but they would only be able to go on small world, pirates, buzz, roger rabbit, and runaway railway for lightning lanes. The rest have height requirements. Autopia might be possible as its height req is 32 inches. The lowest of the lightning lane height reqs.

@@jrbagley2010 That sounds like a solid plan. Though I don’t think any of the CMs will give you grief about it. You’ll just likely need to explain it at the 40 inch rides. If you say he’s not 3 yet, they won’t argue or ask for proof. But it’s likely to still come up as a question. Then once you explain, they’ll say okay and allow it. Original Grey Stuff is hardly ever around. But it’s basically no different than most of the seasonal ones in composition. The Green Stuff in particular is a nice change.

There is alcohol at Disney now. I was surprised this year that they have alcohol at Blue Byou and also Goofy's Kitchen. $18-25 a pop. But it is on the menu. Not sure how I feel about it. I enjoy the cocktails that they offer at the food and wine festival in DCA and Lamplight Lounge, but disneyland having boose now... not sure! You should send a poll!

At Disneyland, they only have alcohol at the table service restaurants, and you can’t take it of the restaurant. Where at DCA, there are half a dozen quick service stands 100% dedicated to alcohol you carry around as you walk. So there’s still mostly a distinction.

Spring Break ends around the middle of the month, so it’ll be less crowded by then. Hopefully. Unless Disney comes out with some other crazy discount.

My wife has an ADA but we can get by without it so we don't use it. I'm pretty sure we'd feel guilty. 😊

If you feel you don't need it, that's probably the right call. But don't hesitate to take advantage of the services available to you if it would dramatically make your experience less of a hassle/pain.
