Wow, loved this! I have never dried flowers and didn't really know how to do it properly. I had a vague idea you hang them up somehow. This was very informative and extremely enjoyable to watch. Thank you for a lovely video!

Charming, delightful, whimsical, of course beautiful and ever so educational. Honestly Georgie, you are such a delight and you make me homesick for England, of all places. I want to buy you a thousand coffees, I have to find someone to show me how to do that. God, I remember when they taught me to drink tea in Studley at the Old Barley Mow. Boiling hot so it seared my German throat. That was in 1956. No one drank coffee then!

I'm not sure anyone else would be interested in this topic but in a previous video you mentioned that you were once messy but learned to be tidy. I'm always intrigued by self improvement stories and would love to learn more if it ever ties into something you are already doing. I have noticed you have quite a good head game for getting tasks done. In particular, rather than feeling over whelmed you seem to break down tasks into smaller more manageable tasks which you then plan to do quite quickly. I find if I tell myself the task is huge and don't break it down into bits nothing gets done at all. But if I tell myself 'This should take 10 minuites' often it does take 10 minutes or even if it takes a little longer at least it gets done. Giving yourself permission to take short cuts and actively looking for them takes the pressure off as does having good routines that you don't have to think about.

Great wreath, wonderful especially with the Raffia!! I am soooo glad to see you as much keeping care of environment as I do. I don't know anyone else being as consequent with that, especially in flower business, and it makes me feel so much better, less alone and much more hopeful!! Thank you!! ❤

I absolutely loved this video, and I adore your beautiful studio!! I have a small shop and garden in Eastern Kentucky, USA and I always dry my herbs and flowers and live to not only sell the bunches, but love to make dried wreaths. It was such a fun surprise to find this video!! I loved everything about it. Your wreath turned out lovely ❤️🌻

The white button flower you didn’t know the name of is Pearly Everlasting, Anaphalis margaritacea. It is a roadside weed in Canada and probably the US also.

Thankyou once again Georgie. Definitely going to dry some flowers now. Always drying herbs but not flowers and the Artemesia will be going in my garden as we've been noticing clothes moths about. Great information again Georgie very straightforward and easy to understand. Do you collect your own seed or purchase new seed each year? Beautiful wreath I will definitely try my hand at it for Christmas. We are in the last month of winter in Australia so when my garden is full in summer I will harvest and dry. 😊 Thank you.

This is so pretty! I am not a flower farmer but am attempting to create a low maintenance suburban garden with flowers I can pick year round. It's trickier than you might think. I am living in Melbourne which has temperate weather and clay soil like yours. However, the soil is nutrient poor and to grow almost anything other than weeds you need to heap on bags of good soil, compost and manure. I have tried chucking on some dynamic lifter pellets but it doesn't do enough to loosen up the soil so that plants can grow. Do you use seed raising mix for seeds? I find when sprinkling seeds in the ground that a layer of good topsoil, with some zoo poo and mushroom compost is better. Often when I pot up seeds in seed raising mix it is not so successful.
@theflowerfarmer Жыл бұрын
I start most seeds in good peat-free compost in trays and plant out into well-mulched beds - we get through about sixteen tons of mulch a year here to keep our beds in good heart xxx
