I thought this video would be kind of interesting for you guys! I decided to show you the every day life of what it's like to drive and own this car and not hold back anything. This is exactly how it is! It definitely has its quirks but I really love this car and I'm sure you guys can tell through my excitement talking so much about it on this channel!
Thanks for watching and be sure to follow me on instagram at @maxbriscoe.civic

I used to daily drive cars like this all the time. I have another 91 si hatch now, and Id hate daily driving it today. It drives fine, its fairly comfortable, and its TONS of fun. However, it's loud all the time, lol. The urethane bushings squeak, the dash shakes at idle from the motor mounts lol.. It would probably be reliable enough to drive daily, but Ill stick to my big comfy A6 for daily duty lol

I’ve had 3 EF’s from the 1.3 GL to an EE9, and none of them I’ve needed to let warm up for 5-10 mins before driving, or had any idling issues at all. Key in, turn and start, then set off. I think your EF is knackered mate 😂

i got an 88 CRX and i have the same exact views, from the rough idle to the screws in the dropdown drawer, however its impossible to recover anything that falls under the seats. I’m 6’4 and i fit very comfortable in it, not to mention i lay my legs flatter than most for manual. Sure, the “rear seats” are why i can fit but oh well. absolutely a fun car and always fun to see older folk smile when they see it.

I dailyed a 91 si for 14 years, started completly stock ran 16.4 with it. Then swaped a ls b18a and ran 15.3. Then put a Type r b18c and a 75 shot dry nitrous and it ran 13.1 on spray and 13.8 on motor was a very fun car and easy to work on.

I’ve daily driven my 90 honda civic for 25 years. Idles perfectly with 330k miles on original engine (not rebuilt). Also, fatties fit fine. I weigh close to 350 lbs

Why bypass IACV ? just fix it lol
@maxbriscoegarage
@maxbriscoegarage Жыл бұрын
Was not that simple, we tried multiple times with various different solutions and new IACVs, plugging and bypassing it was the only solution that made the car stop surging. Made a whole video about this on my channel earlier on. Ive already tried everything u can think of

Lol You shouldn't have to hold the gas like that...maybe try cleaning the entire intake and checking all vacuum? Nice car tho.

I have a 99 ek that doesn't need to be held constantly at cold idle but wants it a bit. Intake manifold has been sandblasted and thoroughly cleaned, entire throttle body disassembled and cleaned as well as a new IACV. Didnt fix it. Confirmed all vac lines are solid. Swapped in a different throttle body, helped a bit but no dice. Mate of mine with a fully aftermarket setup still has the idle issues despite fresh new vac lines and a skunk2 ported TB with brand new IACV.

Just got a 1990 duel point civic with idle issues when you cold start it it runs perfect but once it's been running for a bit or you drive it and let it warm up it just runs like shit and you can't even drive it. How do you bypass the the idle control and would that fix that cuz if it does and I just have to manually cold start it I'll be happy I cant drive it more than like a mile

How did you get the 8th gen SI seats to fit into your EF?
@maxbriscoegarage
@maxbriscoegarage Жыл бұрын
previous owner did it, personally I wouldn't have if I had the choice. Apparently they welded custom brackets underneath to fit the car, I personally would've like to keep the original seat

@@maxbriscoegarage that would make sense, I tried fitting the same seats on my car and the rails are way off, but thanks it’s great to know! 👍🏽
