well, you don't need those rear windows to drive safely, 5% over the 20% is the way to go, always go pitch black on the rears ! : )

In California, all windows behind the driver and passenger can be tinted as much as you want.

I live in Texas, the darker the better. When we consider 98 degrees as cold front, you want dark windows. Looks nice.

The reason why I know it could probably be 5% tint because my dad got his windows tinted on his 2013 Silverado the front is 35% and 5% tint in the rear and when I went to backup the truck at night I could barely see the reverse lights so don’t recommend a 5% tint in the rear unless the rear windows didn’t come tint from the factory then go with a 5%

The only problem in NY with tinted windows is when it comes to inspection time

If the cops don't bother (which is a great thing) then use removable window film on the windows concerned about the (stupid) tint law. This way, inspection time is way easier.

But you also have a clear windshield with light coming in the front and all the back windows are tinted so the front will still seem lighter

After I noticed this in my rookie tint days I got my front windshield tint taken off and made the backs 5%. The front was still super nice in the daytime I never needed sunglasses. At night was only a problem if it is raining hard and the front is darker than 35. The 35 was fine at night for me but I had 20 on all other windows

Thanks the wheels are 17x9 and the tires are 37x12.5. Keep in mind that the reason why it looks so wide is because of the backspacing on my wheels. Typical jeep wheels are 4.5” backspacing and mine have 3.5 backspacing. In order to get this backspacing i needed to get beadlocks.

Will this jeep ever see offroad at all, other than a beach? A Rubicon is a beautiful beast, what you have done is even better, but they need to get out and flex and rip the rocks apart. Show us a video of you crawling that beast on a Jeep Jamboree or something (Moab or Rubicon even Coal Mountain Pennsylvania)

I know they check front windows during inspection but do they check if you have tint over the factory tint in the rear?

Most states allow completely opaque windows’s from the rear windows to the hard top side windows and rear glass. I live in in Illinois is and they have the same laws but you legally you can only have 35% on your front windows and only a 6” non-reflective brow. Just look up your tint laws in your state on google.

Also, to go along. Some states have different laws for different vehicles so make sure you type in tint laws for trucks in my state or SUV or whatever you may have.

Just got my two front windows tinted since my truck didn’t have them tinted and now they are kinda off from the factory tint. I’ll do this to the back windows just have them throw 15% over the stock file lol didn’t know you could even do that. 😅

Hey John, do those 37s kick up rocks and stuff on the side of the jeep on regular pavement or freeways? I have 35s and I have no issues with rocks. I don't know if I should move to 37s. Thanks.

The height of the tire isn’t what causes rocks and stuff to kick up on the side of the Jeep. That happens when you have a negative wheel offset like i do and your tires stick out. On the highway i don’t have that issue because there aren’t many rocks but when i go offroad i do get mud on the side of the Jeep. In my opinion it’s totally worth it.
