Күн бұрын

This is the summary lesson to the Networking Fundamentals series. In this lesson we illustrate everything Switches and Routers do when forwarding packets between two hosts. We show you each device's ARP, Routing, or MAC address tables, and show you how each are populated and/or used to forward packets.
This is the ultimate video showing you a practical illustration of how packets move through a network.
The series wraps itself around a very important interview question: "Tell me everything that happens when you type 'www.google.com' into a Web Browser".
This question seeks to discover if you understand the core of networking: How packets move through a network.
00:00 - Intro
01:03 - Routing Table, ARP Table, MAC Address Table
02:55 - Populating the Routing Tables
04:51 - Packet Details from Host A to Host B

14:23 - Response - Host B to Host A
17:28 - Packet #2 - Host A to Host C
21:34 - Response - Host C to Host A
23:41 - Mission Successful !!!
23:59 - Interview Question for Network Engineering Roles

I'm not a course creator that will simply turn on the screen recording and ramble, then call that teaching. I meticulously plan _every_ module and lesson to _maximize the learning and value_ for the student. To that end, it takes me a while to put together courses. If I'm going to dedicate the time, resources, and energy to putting this full course together, I need to know that there is enough interest in the full course. I'm rating that by how wide a reach this series achieves. *If you are interested in seeing the full course developed, then the best way to bring that to fruition is to spread the word about this content* . By itself it already conveys _a lot_ of value. So sharing even just the 7 lessons (13 videos) in this series will surely help whoever you share it with. Plus ... many online communities would greatly benefit from these videos. I like how you started out with a simple explanation about a back and forth and then tossed in a real life example of this communication because it helps to not worry about those other details when learning this videos concept. I will never forget the day you asked me to come in and go over a ticket with the new hires because you liked my work flow and documentation, this video is very similar and I will point people to it when I can.
