You are totally right about dean´s drinking and womanizing. When cas is not there, he goes back to his old self and to be honest, dean only drinks when he is under a lot of stress. I just love how he opens up to cas and when they´re alone you can see the real them without those walls that get in between their epic love.

Castiel's true form doesn't have a gender, That's only something humans have on their bodies. He has been in female vessels before but Jimmy Novak's body has become more like his own, as he has been a human in that body where not the others. So Castiel is neither male nor female but his favorite vessel is male.
