How Debbie discovered CASA as a way to volunteer directly with kids in need

Debbie Rurik-Goodwin learned about a lot of different charities in Kentucky by volunteering with the Children's Charity of the Bluegrass. Through that work, she found her perfect volunteer opportunity: serving as a CASA volunteer. Debbie creates real, permanent improvements for the children she visits and advocates for just by showing up and showing the children that they matter.
You can serve as a CASA volunteer if you have a heart for helping abused and neglected children and 5-10 hours a month to volunteer. As a CASA volunteer, you visit your matched child monthly, gather information about their life, and write reports that help judges make more informed decisions.
